What an absolute tool. Why are people like this given space to vent their 'anger'? I'm all for free speech but surely someone else could have come up with a better argument against F1?

I stopped reading less than a third of the way into it. The guy knows so much about Formula One's ethos that he can't even correctly spell the name of one of its greatest marques.

Yes and he says that the drivers final position depends upon his performance in 'practice' not Qualifying. The tosser obviously knows little about the sport so why is he commentating on it? This kind of low quality journalism does nothing for their business. The trouble is that, maybe, many of his readers will also know little about the sport and go along with what he says.
The same exists in my other favourite sport - Rugby Union - it is a very technical strategic sport and has many similarities with F1 in that many decisions have to be made that are not obvious to people who do not understand the game. The alternative is Rugby League which is more 'in your face' and obvious, a bit like A1 GP really, all cars are the same and the team has very few decisions to make. That's what I love about F1, so many decisions each of which can affect the result - how many pit stops, tyres, fuel load, timing pit stops to get car into clear air, wing levels, suspension settings, gearbox settings so on and so on - how is that boring if you take the trouble to understand it all.?

sorry for double entry, I forgot a bit. He says that winning is purely down to the car, not the driver and then he rumbles on to say how L.H. has ridden in and saved the sport from inevitable demise. What a load of bollocks!! I think that LH is a great driver and ambassador for the sport but he has not saved it single handed.
So if it is only down to car design how is LH so good?
The man is obviously a complete bottom and his amateur comments are probably not worth all of this response.

Have you ever seen car run out of fuel - no - and nor are you likely to.

hmmmm.

Anyway, many people find many sports boring but it'd be pretty ignorant for them to try to tell the world they are boring as fact.

I know I complained the other week about some of the processional races, but obviously this guy didn't watch the Turkish GP and didn't see Hamilton's pass on Massa. Hopefully next year he will shut up whining altogether with the new aero restrictions allowing for more overtaking.

Some of my friends who like football think F1 is the most boring sport in the world and I have to put up with this a lot people asking why I put F1 before football a lot these days. To be honest F1 arrived on the scene first before Brian Deane and co.

Having said that I don't like Cricket, mainly because I can't understand it, and I remember Denthul once saying that he has friends who like F1 but think Football is rubbish.

But dude, baseball is boring. Not so much for playing, but for spectators, it's slow and undramatic.

And the Cubs NEVER WIN >_<

I do not watch nor have I ever followed baseball but when I went to Astro's game I enjoyed it. Maybe it was my buddie's with me or the beer but I found it rather exciting to watch inperson.

I'd say the last 5 years of F1 have been boring.

Senna, Mansell etc Era was very exciting..

Schumacher Era was great for me (as a Schumi fan) but probably not so great for everyone else ;)

I loved the 98,99,00 years, the battles between Michael and Mika!

First corner isn't even that exciting anymore!

I say we scrap Parc Ferme, that would make it a lot more interesting. Lighter cars for quali and more strategy on and throughout the race.

Suppose you could say, but now BMW are improving, yeah they had a few bad races, but they will make a comeback. Renault are improving more and more, as well as Red Bull. Its nice to see different front contenders.
