If McLaren is trying to get out of Honda, because of problems,
why would Toro Rosso want to go there?

They're not too happy with Renault. So they speculate that Honda will finally get it right with Mario Ilien's help and then Red Bull could get rid of their unloved TAG Heuer Renault engines and drive Honda power.

I guess they're willing to gamble on that becoming a reality!!

It's not really a gamble for Red Bull since the junior team Toro Rosso is just that, a junior team - so it doesn't matter that much whether they have the best engine. So, they keep the known Renault and take on unknown quantity Honda with Toro Rosso as a test bed. Pretty smart move.

It will be interesting to see Sainz go up against Hulkenberg next season, Renault has a lot of potential, let's see what they can do with it!
