This bickering about how boring F1 is, is frankly stupid. Stop watching F1 please, because I'm tired of reading these complaints.

So constructive criticism is not allowed then? Yeah, the sport will go from strength to strength if we just say everything is fine and leave it.

Considering the exciting 3 way title battle last year, looking back I found it incredible how many processional/boring races there were. I'm usually one who looks for the positives too like intriguing strategies or midfield battles, when others are complaining.

Circuit layouts have a lot to do with it too, not just the cars. It's no coincidence that races at the likes of Bahrain and Magny Cours are tedious affairs year on year.

I'm sorry, but this is mild in comparison to the annoying McLaren/Ferrari flaming that neutrals like myself have to put up with. Likewise if you don't like what I'm posting, just ignore it. We all love F1, which is why we're here and whilst I put up with a couple of the more tedious race last year, all races so far bar Australia have been pretty poor, something of a total contrast to the thriller in Melbourne.

Yes that was sooo the best one! So what was it that made it so?It wasnt just the result for me. it was a good race...compared to the subsequent ones :?

Add Circuit De Catalunya to that list too, especially now an article I submitted to f1-rejects.com last year has finally put it up on their website!

That article is pretty damn good man, pity Jerez can't still host GP's. Barcelona has been ruined for years, the only way they could make it any good would be to completly reprofile the circuit. And that doesn't always work...

Good article about Catalunya. It's a horrifically bad track. Even the 1991 Grand Prix was boring, save for that one moment when Senna and Mansell were side by side on pit straight at 200mph.

I agree that the circuits have a big part to play as well. The older circuits have all had the bite taken out of them and the new circuits are bland and don't punish drivers for mistakes. Safety, whilst important and needed looked at after Imola 1994, has gone to unnecessary extremes. Take Imola saying as we are on it. Something did need done with Tamburello, but tyre barriers would probably have been enough, and would certainly be enough now when you consider how well protected the drivers are now compared to a decade ago. There was, however, no need to alter the Aqua Minerale, and no need whatsoever to touch the Variante Alta or Variante Bassa corners. Things have gone so soft now that we even have drivers complaining about traction control being a safety issue.

So it was you!

I read that yesterday, it's a good one. It's funny how Melbourne, usually a procession, was great, and Bahrain/Malaysia, usually great were poor races. Interesting in terms of the fight at the front, but lacking action.

At the moment the only redeeming feature of this season is the closeness of the racing. the whole grid is within 2 sec of each other, and that is fantastic. I hope '09 gets things sorted. Even to 2000/01 levels of passing. That would be acceptable.

It isn't all the tracks which are the problem. We all know Bahrain is a great overtaking track, look at the '06 and '07 races there. All the races there in fact. Apart from this year's one. yes, Barcelona produces boring races, but it is still a fantastic circuit, despite the new corners and lack of overtaking opportunities.

Albert Park, strangely, seems to provide overtaking year on year, contrary to what you would expect.
