I just hope they don't have "more" success than Ferrari!!

I would think McHonda wants to set the bar a bit higher than that.

You could argue that they have already had more success than Ferrari for 2015. Seeing as they have an engine that it's makers are not whining to relax the engine freeze about, and ofcourse they have Alonso, who adds 6/10 which means there's 6/10ths less already and they have Kimi

I'm sure too. No excuses. They've had a year to revamp their engine and they have the highest WDC total on the grid how could they not?

I really hope Mags pulls his socks up next season, I'm sick of seeing Alonso having walkovers with Lame Duck teammates since 2008.

It would seem that you are simply...

...sick of seeing Alonso...

You're kidding! Alonso in a decent car fighting Hamilton in a similar car. Divine :cloud9:

That's your opinion, some people prefer the clear number one and number two status to assure their championships. :P

I've love to see them in the same car though, put this arguably the best driver on the grid term to the test.

That only applies to drives that can't adapt to a car that doesn't suit them more recently drivers like Kimi, Jenson, Webber Vettel. Both Alonso and Hamilton seem to have the adaptability corner all sewn up, so that's automatically an out of bounds argument. I doubt at this point that they'll ever drive for the same team again. Alonso want a a real shot at a championship and then he's out. Lewis feels that anything less than multiple championships would be a disappointment given his F1 career and ambition.

I think we're stuck having this one only in mnm's alternate universe write ups.

Interesting comments from Ron Dennis here.

The second is that, in F1’s complicated new age of kinetic energy recovery systems, there is far more to an engine partnership than the provision of horsepower. "It’s access to the source code that allows you to both harness and harvest the energy recovery systems and that’s crucial for getting a well-balanced car," Ron Dennis explained to Sky F1 at Suzuka. The McLaren boss isn’t in the habit of delivering soundbites but his next line was the ultimate advertising slogan for his team’s reunion with Honda: “No grand prix team is going to win a World Championship in the future unless it is the dominant recipient of an engine manufacturer’s efforts."

If that does become the case then the future could well be led by the engine manufacturers. Maybe more will come in as the smaller teams fall away. So we could get Merecedes, McHonda, Ferrari( if they take their head out the sand and embrace the technology) , Porsche ( WB  ), BMW, Audi, Renault.
Well that would be good for starters. And wouldnt it be funny if Fiat came into F1 :hehe: they used to race and produce classy cars long before Ferrari came into existence.
