We see the red Bulls tend to concentrate on the long runs over quali for these tracks, so its likely the Red Bulls will jump the Maccs in the race and probably the STRs as well, Williams should be closer to Merc than to the midgrid. Ferrari are a mystery tho for tomorrow, I fear it could be a right spanking and lucky to score points with FI coming strong and maybe Suaber 1 stopping

Bottas did a respectable job to put that car where he did. He looked so ragged and so on edge and the last sector was proof that the overdrove the car to get where he did. Massa would have been far behind him for sure had he made it to Q3. I think Lemony's siggy has turned into an albatross to be honest, the guy would have already won his first. Maybe that's why he's been laying low of late poor thing.

If i was Ron, id have poached bottas from Williams, got Honda to pay and build the next era round him (till lewis returns) - I would rather have him to develop Honda era round than Seb or Alonso. And Scandiinavians have always settled in well with the McLaren clinical 'retentiveness'. Alonsos politics and moodiness etc is a risk that could blow up. Ofcourse give him a first chance, its not like he was previously at the Ron school of emotional expression and blew up....er hold on, scratch that :hehe:

Fun fact, I forgot my password and for some reason wasn't receiving the password reset emails, then today they all came at once!

I can hope damn it!

From what I've heard anyway starting in 1st/3rd is the best side of the grid, that's what came out of the GP2/GP3 paddocks after the race.

i bet you didnt actually watched quali, right????

yet you are bored by the outcome??????

after telling us you came into F1 on the back of MS and ferraris success??????

yet you dont like double standards in others but are happy with complain about the prancing donkey derision by others because they are on a different level of F1 appreciation than your own mild irritations, ok makes sense, see you in the mea culpa lounge!!!!!

oh yeah i almost forgot the 'I'm so witty' smiley :whip:

I can't see the top three changing in the race. They are all a cut above on pace, probable one stopper, so nobody to challenge them or getting an undercut. How did the GP2 race go with overtaking?

Rosberg came in from the cold a bit in quali after appearing to struggle in practice. The Williams doesn't have the pace in the long run but if Bottas can jump him at the start it should be fun.

Kvyat went even better than I half-jokingly expected. He's laid down a new benchmark for himself. The Vettel comparisons will pick up speed now, which is doing him a disservice. The problem with this RBYDP is the assumption we can make easy comparisons, and drivers lose their autonomy.

When Lewis says he doesn't think it will be a terribly difficult track to overtake on I would believe him. There are clearly points on the circuit that will faciliate overtakes if not by and actual attack, it will be by a leader making a mistake. Turn 13 had everyone locking up and going wide, same thing with turn 2 and the track is not Monaco tight.

When someone wants to pass they'll get the job done, they've just got to have the skills to to it.

One factor that is interesting (and may leave Nico out in the cold) is the fact that race in and race out both Bottas and Hamilton have used the least amount of fuel and this being a heavy fuel usage track might make things interesting.

What's not terribly difficult for Hamilton isn't necessarily the same for others, but if we can avoid a procession on a tight circuit, I'm up
for that. I agree, knowing it can be done, I can see plenty of pressuring errors as drivers struggle with consistent rhythm on a technically
difficult track.

Rosberg's turn to be moody this weekend. They both have entitlement issues, which is more understandable at this point, but still makes you want to slap them.
His fuel issue I would consider just another nail in the coffin this weekend. His only worry is if Hamilton has a DNF and he can't make the most of it. A Bottas win
would be very well deserved though, and put a smile on Claire's face, after she looked so concerned all through quali.

Hamilton was funny in the QPC when asked about the track, rambling on to say how good it all was, like, have I convinced the PR people yet?

A 'meh' would have covered it.

Really enjoyed this qualifying session, was really rooting for Bottas, and it was a shame he ran wide at the end. However, it still would've been touch-and-go as to whether he'd make pole.

A lot of people were comparing this circuit to the old Valencia track, but I've got to say it looks far more pleasing on the eye. Nice back-drop and they've made it look absolutely stunning in the time they were allotted. Good job. I simply hope that it throws up a good race for us.

Hopefully Merc will have no issues, and the drivers have a decent dice out front. Otherwise, it'll be interesting to see what Alonso, Ricciardo, Vettel and Massa can do from further down.

I also wish that Magnussen would have some better luck for a change. The poor guy has lost many potential points over the course of this year, and whilst on some occasions it has been his fault, there have been far too many mishaps too. One hopes he also has a much better day tomorrow.

And finally, special mention to Kvyat... excellent performance in front of the home crowd. Do them proud in the race. :)

Oh, you who prides himself on reading between the lines, didn't get the point I was making, I guess.
Here, let me be blunt: Just as most of us complained of the monotony of Vettel walking away with win
after win after win, many of us are complaining about the monotony of Hamilton doing the same.
The only difference for Hamilton fans, is that it's more palatable, with him on the top step.

(Yes, just as it must have been as acceptable to Ferrari fans when it was Schumi heading the monotony!!)

By the way, aside from needing work on your inferencing, you really do need to get some tutouring in Reading Comprehension. I have said that I was NOT watching when Schumi was winning.

p.s. the highlighted text from your post goes to show just what a sensitve, welcoming sort you really are!!
Thank you for being you!!
