After probably the darkest weekend in F1 since the tragic event at Imola, 1994, we go to the newest track of the year and Russia for the Russian Grand Prix. Looking forward to the race itself, lets see how great it is.

I think there are some questions to answer about this.

Will the teams get out of Japan in time, and who will be keeping Jules' seat warm for him?

Putin.

I'd say there have been darker weekends Liam where lives have been lost.

(Don't forget Budapest 2009)

But yes, hopefully Jules will be better by the time F1 rocks up in Sochi. Also, let's see whether or not the incoming typhoon in Japan will prevent the teams and paddock folk leaving the country for Russia...

Looking at the Sochi circuit on the F1 2014 game demo, Mercedes will be OP, but i think Williams could be close to Merc at Sochi perhaps, if it doesn't rain of course.

Brand new circuit, always interesting.

Putin will have to be there, otherwise his manly image will get tarnished a bit - like he didnt like the LOUD noise made by the 2014 after he took an old Red Bull for a spin

besides how else is bernie gonna receive his envelope

But I am looking forward to this, and it will be good for Russia as a whole to get some press thats not negative, and a chance to show their organisational skills outside incursions, destabilisations, poisonings and the old helicopter/plane crash etc. Its a good chance to let the good stuff show through the politicking etc

Its always exciting with a brand new track, no one has experience - another plus for the skilled driver to shine outside the 'engineering doctorates' and the 'theres more to F1 than speed' distrators.

Expect the talent to rise, Lewis, Ricc, Kobs, Bottas, Kyviat, and expect excuses from the usual suspects, Button, Seb, Massa and ofcourse expect those most affected by the radio coaching and teammate homework passing ban to go missing as they are left without yardsticks and reference markers

Another F1 race so close to us!

Look forward to Putin handing out the trophies to the Mercedes boys on the podium.

I have a strange feeling Kvyat will do very well here.

Theres an early printing of Sundays Moscow Times that's already listed him as the winner. :P
