However, Horner believes Monza marked a turning point for Vettel and is expecting him to be much closer to Ricciardo for the remaining six races.

Closer... not beat... closer.

It would have been interesting to see how Vettel's race panned out, straight pace and tyre management wise, if RB hadn't forced the undercut. He's outqualified DR the last few races, so whether he's setting the car up for quali or isn't making the most of the tyres over race length it's hard to tell. I have a feeling it's the latter, partly due to his twitchiness with the car.

The team screwed Vettels race more than once this year.

The team screwed Ricciardo's race pretty spectacularly in Australia.

I think Vettel has caused his own downfall more often than not. He complained in Canada about poor strategy but it was similar to Monza, either be stuck behind a FI because you don't have the oomph on the straight or change to a more aggressive tyre strategy, which is his achilles heel. In Britain and Germany he simply let Alonso overtake after exiting the pits, then spent a good portion of that stint in exciting but needless battles. Even in 'Vettel' conditions like Hungary, he struggled. DR has been making strategies work and has had more luck in optimising them, but his ability to ride one less stint, or push harder, is paying the biggest dividends. Couple that with an ability to make crucial overtakes stick, and there's the difference. It's not Vettel's single lap pace that's suffering, it's the things he hasn't had to worry about the last four years.

You can put Malaysia in there as well.

The Red Bulls are using a steering wheel that does not have the display is this new for them or have they not used them all year??? I feel I would have noticed it if they'd not been using them.

My new 2nd favourite team! Dani and the icecool Russian kid, it would be a treat if these guys can challenge Merc for the trophies next season.

I think the young Russian could be more of a challenge to Danny than the 4-time WDC.
Have to say things have played out pretty well for Kyvat, 1 year at STR then straight up into the Red Bull team, And to think of all the other STR drivers that have been put in the scrapheap during that long lasting Vettel Webber pairing at Red Bull.

Its all about timing and opportunity in F1.

Haha was thinking the same...but its not just in F1 is it. Happens everywhere in the corporate world.

What the ****? Seriously, Kvyat spends one year in the junior team and gets the jump to promotion? Seriously, does Red Bull hate JEV? Poor JEV, he gets a great chance to join RBR next year and they give him the middle finger....
