If the rumour is true that there will be 8 three car teams next year Mercedes should pick up Ricciardo. The way they are driving right now he would the #1 with two #3 drivers in support!
Seb had a pretty good race, he ran out of tires at the end but only Ricciardo got past. Not so bad overall but he must be pissed to have not been on the best strategy.
If the rumours are true then there is a high chance of Button or Alonso being snatched by Mercedes.
Congratulations to Nico for serving his punishment of letting Lewis one. Sadly he had to cut the chicane twice to let him through because Lewis was not fast enough to take advantage of it the 1st time.
interesting idea
But why would Nico choose to cut the chicane when he had Lewis AND another driver both able to take advantage??
Do you mean Nico is not that smart at all
Anthony Davidson laughed at that idea, I too think it's a ridiculous idea. Hamilton would have been very downbeat about a victory like that and would not have wanted that at all.
Ant Davidson reads my posts?
It was already thrown into conversation by the sky team before you had even posted.

You gotta wonder who they are pandering to when they make these jokes, do they seriously think any serious F1 fan is enough of a blind h8ter to not consider that Massa would have benefitted from the first chicane slip as he was in front AND that it would have been easier to give Nico a delay of 2 seconds in the pit to eliminate the risk of him actually crashing in the chicane ( a guy deliberately running off track is not possible to enforce or regulate or avoid risk of dnfs)
They do it for media attention, got to get people interested, talking, visiting their site for updates... etc
I miss the good old days when spinning up your wheels at the start was was an obvious driver error, today it is all so convenient to blame one of the many acronyms for your mistake. Anyway the car and ers seemed to be working perfectly, it on the pace immediately and was the fastest for the whole race.
Are you blind or stupid? It was obvious what was going on, on the warm up lap he reported the problem and they were trying to resolve the issue before the start but they were unable to and the only thing you can do in that situation is either start normally which would lose you 6+ positions or pretty much floor it to get the engine and tyres up to speed which will damage your tyres but limit the loss positions.
Mistakes and all, Lewis won... comfortably.
On average he kept his 0.3 faster up until the last few laps where he was just bringing it home
Are those the laps he was tight to Massa'a wing who was being held up by Magnusson? Hamilton's pace was fine, I think you should actually watch the race and not rely on just data!
From the radio transmissions broadcast Hamilton had to change a switch position, so it appears he had it in the wrong mode or something. No real issue.
The only reason he stuck with them at the start was DRS and slip streaming one the problem was sorted he instantly put more pressure on the car ahead who put more pressure on kmag. The lap they passed Kmag Hamilton went fastest and then overtook Massa and was comfortably faster up until he caught the back of Rosberg he waited patiently and after the pits used his grip to catch them Rosberg screwed up and Hamilton went even faster pulling out 1.5 seconds in two laps which added onto rosbergs lost 1.2 seconds
It wasn't a battle of mistakes. Only Rosberg made mistakes. Ok Lewis flat spotted a bit near the end but it had no impact on the outcome. It's unfortunate if Bottas was held up by Hamilton, but that's what happens sometimes. Look how much Hamilton has been set back by technical issues outside his control this season. And that's exactly what happened here, Lewis had a technical issue which slowed him off the line, he didn't make a mistake.
Lewis drove flawlessly expect for one lockup at the end but he didn't actually lose any time on that lap
Yeah I'd agree with Mags penalty as well. This 5 second penalty was a good one....didn't punish him terribly and it's still better than a drive through isn't it? I'm guessing you lose more than 5 seconds for the average drive through.
A drive though is like 12 seconds but I completely disagree I don't think it was a fair penalty. He shouldn't of been penalised
The first corner is known for major crashes and I think Bottas played it smart by staying behind Lewis and not move around and risk getting clobbered. Yeah it probably cost him a podium but he picked up healthy 12points and is now sitting above Alonso in the WDC.
Indeed, very smart from Bottas he knew he couldn't fight the Mercedes so he gave him plenty of room
Rosberg is quite clearly starting to tighten up and here's where Lewis's previous experience of battling for the championship comes into play. It's a bit like Webber is 2010. Despite being behind and navigating a lot reliability issues, Hamilton seems the more relaxed.
No doubt his experience will be playing a massive part from now on
I wonder if Rosberg is taken aback by how unpopular his move on Hamilton at Spa was? He seemed to escape with the Monacco one but is getting battered by fans since spa. And I don't believe it's only British fans, it's not like it's happening at Silverstone. He looked uneasy on the podium, maybe it's getting to him?
That's an interesting thought he would surely feel guilty and a bit unloved for it as but I'm sure after Hamilton made a gesture and spoke after about the booing it will make Rosberg feel better but he will also realise to play fair and respect Lewis
Toto is the man though
We know what's going on in their hotel room tonight!!!
