If the initial rumors about the 2015 Mercedes turbo engines are to be believed, then the Renault powered teams will have trouble sleeping over the next few month ahead of 2015. Here’s what’s been reported via Italian Motorsports site Omnicorse.it



V6 TURBO MERCEDES 2015 EVEN MORE ‘POWERFUL
Apparently, according to initial data leaked from Brixworth, the next turbo V6 engine of the Mercedes will be even more powerful than the one supplied with the works team based in Brackley, as well as McLaren, Williams and Force India. But Mclaren as we know are switching to Honda, and Lotus will be “filling the gap”



THE MERCEDES POWER UNIT IMPROVED TO KEEP UP DOMAINATION
The engine is already in an advanced stage of preparation, thereby enabling the teams equipped by the German power unit to prepare the housing on the chassis of the 2015 V6 and all its major components. Some elements of the power unit will be revised and improved, like ERS, one of the strengths of the German V6 in this season. Ferrari and Renault in recent months are working to reduce and, if possible, fill the existing gap that separates them from the engines still rulers of the current season.

Rosberg is the only one who has not raced cleanly, and he's done so more than once, to the point that Mercedes fined him an undisclosed six figure fine which they gave to charity for his offence at Spa. Lauda has also said this week that. Lewis was completely blameless in the Spa incident yet has lost 19 points to Rosberg.

Yet Rosberg has just signed a multi year deal and Lewis has a year and a half left on his. Do you think there is a get out clause in the drivers contracts whereby if they deliberately break the rules their contact may become void?

Interested to hear your thoughts? Are they serious? Is it a message to Rosberg that he cannot keep cheating?

Saying this right after Rosberg got a slap on the wrist should be a direct message to Rosberg.

And of course contracts in F1 mean jack sh*t. Heinz Harald Frentzen got fired by FAX by Jordan even with a lengthy duration left in his contract, and since then contracts have been broken left and right.

Where did you hear this BTW? It's good for them to state this publicly, puts the pressure on Rosberg to keep his freaking eyes open and brain firing when he's close to Lewis' tyres from here on in.

Yeah I heard this on BBC radio this morning. I think this is BBC reading between the lines. Nowhere in the quotes do they come out and say "We might need to sacka driver at the end of the year."

Reading the quoted parts, it does seem like they're giving the drivers a final warning. And lets say Rosberg cuts Hamiltons tyre again this weekend....will Mercedes be forced to act? Yes. They'd look like tards if they give him another meaningless fine.

Its the public version of the private punishment they gave Nico. The Merc brand are repairing the recent damage by telling us that they are willing to do what it takes to keep upholding the values they feel merc should be associated with.

Will they sack one - ofcourse not, have they 'regained control' and 'punished' the perp? Yes - thats what they are saying - 'we have slapped his wrists' and going forward we will ultimately sack anyone doing what (Nico) did again in case you think we werent tough enough on the perp.
Merc are there for business reasons and it would make a lot less business sense to drop Lewis for 'letting Nico' behave like a twat. Contract or no contract if you break it by going against the teams interests, not only can they sack you, they could probably get you to pay them compensation - like a fine or something

If Hamilton goes for a 'deliberate crash' to prove a point, yes...and as a Hamilton fan I'd like to see Merc lower the boom on him.

But Mercs point was not about 'racing incidents'. I see this as Merc being incensed by Rosbergs bullsh*t prove a point move, by crashing into another Merc for his own ego. This was no minor incident....it was a deliberate crash which Rosberg admitted privately, and Merc are trying to contain publicly.
