But where would Fernando go if he left Renault? Ferrari have said that they won't pair him with Kimi, McLaren wouldn't sign him again and I don't think BMW would, either. However, the regulation changes next year mean he may have a lot more options available to him, I suppose.
Personally, I think Renault will be the team that has improved the most between Bahrain and Spain.

I wish he was right about Williams, but I think what he means by Williams and Toyota being on top is that they're faster than Renault. Also notice how he doesn't mention McLaren and Red Bull. The latter probably being the fact Red Bull are Renault's engine customers and if he said they were doing better than the works team, that wouldn't go down too well with the sponsors - if it got rid of ING and their yeuchy-sickly orange that wouldn't be so much of a big loss.

Fernando Alonso's reported desire to switch to Ferrari next year has been dealt a harsh blow by the famous Italian team's President.
Luca di Montezemolo is quoted by the sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport as questioning whether appointing the Spaniard would be "desirable" for Ferrari in terms of maintaining harmony in the scarlet-clad garages.
"To line up a (Kimi) Raikkonen-Alonso double act would mean wanting to damage yourself," he said.
"I want two equal drivers that work together," Montezemolo added.

Fernando Alonso, disappointed at the pace of his 2008 package, has been
making noises about a team switch for next year, with speculation hinting
strongly that his first preference is Ferrari.
But Ferrari president Montezemolo this week reacted that the Spaniard's arrival might "damage" the team.
"It is always very difficult to have two really good drivers in a team," Renault
boss Briatore told reporters at a sponsor press conference in Spain.
"When your two drivers are equally good, the teammates become their
greatest
enemies.
"Drivers like Fernando, Schumacher or Raikkonen are complicated, and putting
them together does not always produce positive results," he added.
With respect to Alonso's current teammate Nelson Piquet, Briatore insisted
that the best strategy for F1 is to establish a "degree of hierarchy" while
"working for both" drivers.
"Take last year, with Alonso and Hamilton -- at the end McLaren lost the
drivers' championship, and the reason was the rivalry," he said.
Briatore refused to respond to whether he was 'relieved' that Montezemolo
has ruled out hiring Alonso for 2009.
"I am here to talk about Renault," he told the reporters. "If you want to
talk about Ferrari, I will even pay for your journey to Maranello."

kimi will not go anywhere soon from ferrari and I agree that to have both KR and FA at the same time at Ferrari is suicidal. Although, if that was possible, we would see some amazing on-track fights for the first podium position at every race.
When Kimi goes, for whatever reason, FA will be the first choice for replacement.
