I think your devil's advocacy stance needs a rethink, as your position would be like the FiA forcing Olympic sprinters to run in high heels on the grounds of safety or risk being disqualified. Not at all comparable to the tire situation issue last year.

You're also assuming that the FIA bases their decisions on logic! :twisted:

It will not happen this year. No way will there be a unanimous vote.

That's true, unless there is some hidden deals going on with the FIA... lol. I can see Lotus and Mercedes being 100% the ban though.

The FIA are renowned for the illogical ideas/thoughts and decisions lol

And, that's why I thought I'd play devil's advocate! :clap:

If Ferrari and Redbull have it, we can easily get a unanimous agreement to delay this sh*t till 2015. The customers can only go along with what the factory teams suggest.

Only McLaren can be a fly in the ointment, but I suspect they are using the system too.

Williams are an unknown. If they dont have it, they may stick the knife in, go against the vote - and hope to reap the rewards the rest of the year.

And Mercedes will stick the knife in their P&Ls from 2015 onwards.

Im sure engine prices have been agreed for the term of their contract, which Im guessing is more than 1 year long?

First year with these new engines, I'm sure they have get out of clauses. Which is why RBR are threatening Renault every which way they can.

And if Williams has get out of clauses, I'm sure it works both ways (price renegotiation POV from supplier) .

He revises it at the end of each season anyway. ;)

Wouldn't it be a bit of a big ask to have this removed by hockenheim, it's not just going to be a case of simply taking it out the car.

Sometimes mid season. My suggestions is he adds a footnote;
*if both of the Mercedes DNF in the same event, otherwise, the signature statement will include at my discretion the years 2015, 2016, and 2017.
