I was expecting that new penalty to be applied. The 5 sec addition to the pitstop, but no, he escaped punishment again, and once again Hamilton was the resultant loser from his actions.

Merc pretty much punished Rosberg with his slow second stop

I think the Chilton penalty a little harsh. 4th corner in a pack or cars and he loses the back end. It's not like he rammed anyone off deliberately or drove like a Maldonado.

Yeah, they seem to be cracking down harder than ever now, on what a basic, easily-made racing errors. They should be careful, or the drivers will be frightened of even attempting a move!

One of the best things about the new style F1 (other than the improved racing spectacle) is the fact you can hear the crowd. It first became evident when Daniel Ricciardo raced to "third" place in Melbourne, and you could here the cheers of the crowd above anything else.

Watching the Montreal coverage again, the crowd reactions are magical. When the Mercs are battling earlier in the race, when Rosberg runs over the chicane, when Hamilton's brakes go, when Ricciardo takes the lead and the crash at the end. Throughout all of these moments, you can here the noise of the crowd above the engines and the commentary.

Such an atmosphere. The sport has never looked healthier.

After seeing the helicopter footage, I feel perez/massa incident is a racing incident. It's clear from that footage that BOTH drivers moved. Perez did make a mistake by moving left. Massa made a mistake by moving right and not leaving a crippled car ample room.

Also, if you guys notice the lights on perez' steering wheel turned off right before the incident so he might have had some sort of failure that imbalanced to car and caused him to turn left a bit.

Agreed, I especially like hearing the pit lane ambiance when the cars pull in and out. You can hear wheel screech and the actual movement of pit lane crews as they drop tools, release jacks etc.

I've not chimed into the argument because that was my feeling, both drivers shared in the incident. Massa's biggest failing however was not being able to get around Perez and if he couldn't get around Perez, he was not going to get around the Red Bulls.

I think Massa was hungry for a podium that he was never going to get and paid the price. Not unlike a mistake we've seen other drivers make but this was a situation Massa's experience should have worked in his favor and it didn't.

I can never make up my mind about Massa. I was hoping he would shopw his true ability when he come to Williams. Im not so sure now. One thing he does do, is he always come across as 'entitled'. Maybe it comes from being WDC for 30 seconds.

So true. even the new sound has integrated with the new experience and the racing. The old noise seems primitive and lacking now in comparison. The new experience has carved its own legend already. And I will hear it live at Silverstone, the lower volume might even be enough to persuade her mum to let my 5 year old experience her first live race

Yeah that is definitely the positive side of it! I noticed it for the first time in catalunya that I could hear the tires screeching. When I saw the US GP last november the ONLY thing you could ever hear were the engines. It was a beautiful thing! Hearing the other noises though is really nice as well

I just read on the formula1.com website that the marussia drivers blamed each other for the incident. In what $#@!ing world is chilton? Bianchi was ahead of him going into the turn and left him room on the inside from what I remember. Holy $#@!
