Battle's on.

Exactly, I think this sets us up for a very good race, and also provides exciting prospects for the ongoing season.

Not sure what will happen in the race between these two, the first corner could be dramatic. Be prepared for some frantic radio messages also! :P

It has been a lot of fun being here, arrived Friday evening. The city is always a vibrant place but even more fun with this event on. Watched the both official language newscasts when the 10 yr funding deal was announced. There was some negative commentary due to the fact that the newly elected provincial gov't have brought in stringent austerity programs. Questions arose of whether the amts other than the federal gov't would be met.
Great to see Vettel's final run as we had heard that DC had made commentary regarding Riccardo being more hungry than Vettel this point in their careers. We heard this from someone watching a DC's feed so not exactly sure what all was said but it generated at lot of wtf's.
There are just over 12 of us that came for this, a few have been coning for years. I asked about the engine note and all they said is that yes, it is different but not unpleasant nr a distraction from enjoying the event. He thought that there were more teenagers to mid 20's in the crowds.
Here's hoping for an entertaining race, with much passing and lead changes.

GAAADAMMIT! I was visiting friends all day yesterday, out of respect for a friendship we'd all shared for 35 years or so I resisted the urge to whip out my phone to try and follow qualifying. :banghead:

So we were drinking sangria, eating good food, and reminiscing about the past, talking about the present and guessing about the future. It was a good day, but still I missed qualifying. :banghead:

:hehe:

Anyway, it looks like I missed a fanstastic one. Nico beats his teammate fair and square, and ups the ante the way it should be! This Mercedes team is on a trajectory to create formula one history not just writing records but hopefully establishing a legacy!

Since I didn't watch it, and it's not being replayed today, can someone describe Nico's demeanor? Was he exctatic like Monaco or with more of the reserved confidence, that he'd actually achieved something?

I'm betting that Lewis didn't complain or whine or put blame on anything, just said I made a mistake when it mattered, and just wasn't quick enough but tomorrow is race day, or something along those lines.

...anyway, here's to a great Sunday of racing je me souviens!

Well I'm not sure if I'm going to be awake for this one. I thought that I'd be able to stay awake all night for it (tomorrow is a public holiday), expecting the race to start at 3. But now it's just gone midnight and I decided to check the TV guide and the F1 website, and the race actually starts at 4.

There should be enough time to get a decent nap, but could someone please call me and make sure that I'm awake?

My number is +614 SEXY FISH - I especially want you to call geetface - I like a bit of dirty talk... :whip:

In all seriousness though - there's probably no point watching it because I know that it will be another Mercedes 1-2 and both Vettel and Toro Rosso boys will have rotten luck, so what's the point in watching?

But I'll try anyway. I'd hate to admit it but I know that I am watching history in the making this season. And now Hamilton and Rosberg have a soured relationship, it's 1989 all over again. Not that I was alive then....

Anyways - I'm just going to submit my picks and then have a nanna nap.

Mate, there is SO much more to this season than a series of Merc 1-2s... :whip:

Reserved confidence, I would say.

Are you sure you didn't watch ? Because you pretty much nailed it !
Nico celebrated with a smile and a wave, and I think you just about got Lewis's statement word for word

No manic celebrations from Nico, reserved confidence. Lewis was fine, congratulated Nico , said he drove superbly, did the perfect lap while Lewis made a slight error On both runs. Lewis said it was entirely his own fault he didn't get the pole.

Is anybody else awake!!!!???? No one except stonemonkey and me in the chat room. No new posts here and the Marussias both crashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a freakin' crazy one as well. Chilton's first DNF - in case you're hiding under a rock!!!!
#403750
Yeah, I just posted on the Hamilton / Rosberg thread. Just an unfortunate mistake from Chilton - cold tyres, poor traction. Real D*ck move from Rosberg at the start.
