Speaking of performance; the audio performance seems better in Montreal; the engine sound louder and higher revving... or is that just my imagination?

Look the emperor's new clothes look great, are efficient and even sound better :hehe:

2004, was apparently the pinnacle of F1 performance. The lap record is held by Barrichello of 1.13.622 and the pole lap was 1.12.275. Back in the day when they had V10's. Unrestricted rubber designed for performance first, and four practice sessions to rubber in the track, plus qualifying, plus race day.

The fastest time in FP2 was 1.14.0, today's FP2 was 1.16.1 so roughly a 2.9% delta in speed between the height of F1 performance, and today's cars in Montreal, all while using 50% less fuel than the cars of that era would have used.

Not bad IMO.

It's a testament to the engineering pedigree in the sport. Nothing shouts performance more than these figures, and the sport should be advertizing some of these facts in a 'tastier' manner for the more thick headed out there to get it, and appreciate it.

When the thick headed don't appreciate or like something at least they are smart enough to leave or stop watching

It's the clinical mentally dis functionals the sport need to advertising these facts to

You'd be surprised. I see quite a few idiots on other news sites commenting and b*tching away like whingers since Melbourne and still doing so. It's amazing how many dumb people there are in this world, and a few of them in power too. :hehe:

At least on other sites once several members have pointed out the errors and flaws in a futile argument, it ends there

I cant imagine Skysports forum would mind members for pointing out the fact to Kravitz that ICE engines do have sparkplugs

edit:carefully edited several times to avoid upsetting Ted Kravitz or anyone else

Kimi Raikkonen says he is still not content with the handling of his Ferrari, despite edging team-mate Fernando Alonso in Friday practice for the Canadian Grand Prix.
Raikkonen still not happy with Ferrari's handling

Although Raikkonen has played down the issues he has had with his car in recent races, blaming it on a lack of performance overall from the F14 T, in Ferrari's post-practice press release he said the handling is still not to his liking.

"I am still not 100% happy with the handling of the F14 T, but I am sure that an analysis of the data we gathered will point us in the right direction for qualifying and the race," he said.

Raikkonen's practice session was not helped by an engine issue in FP1 which he said cost him set-up time.

"This morning, because of a problem on my car, I was unable to run as much as planned and that's never a good thing, because getting in plenty of laps is very important. Thanks to speedy work from the team, in the afternoon, we managed to make up for the run lost in the morning and even if it's too early to make predictions, overall, it didn't go badly and by the end of the day my feeling with the car had improved."

This has gone into whining mode IMO.....a champ shouldn't take so long to start matching his teammate.

He's in good company, eh?
It's not like he's the first, nor will he be the last.

I cant think of any other champs that have been beaten 6-0 yet came back to beat the teammate

When using a team members name please insert the accents properly. The name of Ferrari's driver is not Kimi Raikonnen, its Kimi Räikkönen, if you are using tapatalk on mobile device perhaps abbreviate it to KR.

The font colour is there for emphasis and is in no way related to the moderator colour, this is not a new regulation that I can police, its just a chance to remind y'all of my powwahhh

You're damn right, he's integrated into the team very well.

I was thinking more along the lines of a grander scare, the F1 community
and, dare I say it, the entire human race!!

Interesting battle for best of the rest.
Surprised Force India hasn't been higher on the time sheets, unless they been holding back a bit, but don't think they have been.

:vomit::vomit::vomit: DC talking about 2011 and Jenson greatest ever win. I guess people have short memories about what happened. Now talking about his sixth sense on tyre choice. I seriously am about to vomit!!

I have to go out in about half an hour, right in the middle if quali :banghead::banghead:

Button says he needs mixed conditions to have a good result, but the last time there were mixed conditions he got out classed by his rookie teammate

Rumours are that Mercedes might unleash everything to qualify on the harder of the two compounds (because they can) since they're trying to run almost the whole race on them. The super softs are graining a lot more than expected.
#403596
The Mercs could qualify anywhere and still be first after 10 laps. They could afford to qualify on the harder tyres and come in for softs in the last few laps of the race.
