...The other side of the coin is, I don't so mind competitors not shaking hands…I don't put much stock in that. I didn't mind when Senna and Prost didn't shake hands either. It's nice but it doesn't do much for me. It's great when you're teaching little 10 year olds about sportsmanship but these drivers are gladiators going at each other. Let em do their thing. (But that's just me though… :) )

You'd probably be surpised at how few 10-year-old display sportsmanship-like behaviour!
They are so overwhelmed by the win-at-all-cost attitude society has today that they feel
dejected and demoralized if they don't win.

Seeing their "idols" is one way of them understanding that there has to be respect amongst
and between competitors.

Just saying...

Well, I really enjoyed that race. Lots of incidents, plenty of stuff happening on track and a good deal to talk about.

Hopefully things continue to simmer at Merc, because I'm loving the increasing tension, and it's probably doing F1 a lot of good

Well done today Bianchi and Marussia, not bad for a telecommunications company.

Where have Caterham gone so wrong!

Well done to Nico, a good weekend. Definitely stopped Lewis' momentum.

As for Lewis, he had some bad luck this weekend. However a solid 2nd place was good. For me however his questioning of his team on the pit radio was unnecessary, I think it should of been left to the post race debrief. What if they had pitted him a lap earlier and the SC had not come out? I am sure he would of complained when he rejoined the pack in 16th or something.

Kimi well it like watching the movie Full Metal Jacket. Good 1st half, and a what are you doing 2nd half.

Fernando, was his usual metronome self.

Dan the man, I defiantly underrated him last year. If I was Seb I would be embarrassed by this guy.

Massa gave it a good go today as well.

Let's be honest, he had something in his eye for 2 laps at most, by then he had already fallen back from Nico. A world leading driver shouldn't let what happened on Saturday affect him come race day, but it did, massively. Yeah I get why he's disappointed, I would be too, but talking down his team and saying that he is now "Only" rivals with Nico is just being a little bit grating; he was like this at McLaren talking about the Red Bulls being faster, now he has the dominant car and he is still like it, it boggles the mind sometimes. When Lewis won the last 4 races on the trot Nico was blaming himself clearly, but he wasn't taking it out on the team, or on Lewis.

There seemed to be a fair few mechanical break-downs today, including a few engine failures.

The cars had seemed to be progressively getting more reliable, even over the course of just 5 Grands Prix, so it was surprising to see so many failures on what is a relatively slow speed circuit.

I think the real embarrassment of the weekend was Nico celebrating his pole. :hehe:

Lew, did you mean boil? Simmer is when there is less heat being applied and the temperature of the pot is lower, cooking at a slower pace. Boil is due to high temps, hot pot bubbling and ready to boil over. :hehe:

Ok, I take it back! Monaco, you were worth waiting for! Enjoyed this race weekend...big time.
Firstly, I haven't been on here since before Quali, but I feel Nico knew what he was doing. He could have avoided yellows by pulling fully into that escape road, but he didn't. Having said that, I think Lewis coulda got his lap in sooner.
Anyway, aside from that, cracking little race today. Couple of safety cars kept everyone honest.
Marussia...I don my hat to you Sir's! Super result for them guys today, I'm so pleased a team in their position was able to get some points. And who knew that actually have an onboard camera on that car! Well done the Monaco director for showing us that! Drive of the day though, Hulkenberg, come on what more does this guy have to do...GIVE HIM A DRIVE one of the big teams. That said, FI aren't doing bad! Bad luck for Seb, and you can feel the frustration, but I cannot help but enjoy Ricciardo's dominance in that team right now. Nice guy, good racer, and he's having a belter. I feel harsh not rating Kvyat higher, he's a super talent for the sport! (I just find it hard to support a Russian given Russia's politics right now...and I realise my joy for Marussia is therefore a bit hypocritical).

Mercedes need to keep a lid on these two though. Hamilton looks the more uncomfortable, and Nico knows it. I think Lewis needs to keep some focus, and let his car do the talking here on in. Lets not forget, Monaco doesn't talk for the whole season!!

Cracking Monaco though. Next up is the circuit I most want to visit, Canada! I wonder if we'll see similar levels of reliability issues? I suspect not.

My highlight of the race commentary (On Sky in the UK) was Brundle saying that Vettels car would be jacked onto the trolley then into the garage...or the harbour! haha! Love it!

I haven't seen Nico's pole so I can't really judge :hehe:

I see the nico/Lewis friends issue as Nico just being a PR driven animal saying "nothing to see here move along"

Which would be the smart thing to say/do, especially since the media is well-known to exaggerate in order to create non-existent headlines!!
