I'm ready to call it Lewis's title now and I think he has the chance to write some great records into the books in terms of consecutive wins.

I really don't like this notion of record collecting. It seemed to be Vettel's obsession, meaningless stats, collecting them at will like xbox on easy setting. They should be a by product of success not a motivation for it. And I know you weren't implying that, spanky, but the further into the season we go the more it'll get talked about, and it's a barometer of absolutely nothing, but people will prattle on regardless, trying to lend it weight and credence.

I'd really like to believe Hamilton's above that, or it's way down the list.

No, I certainly don't think Lewis is chasing anything but the title for his team and himself. However, I also know he will go flat out every race, I don't think he will slacken off once he knows the title is in his grasp. The records will come and, IMO, they will be well deserved. With a boring year of car performance and racing (IMO) it gives me something to enjoy watching.

Did anyone else notice the fuel use stats towards the end of the race? Lewis had like 3 points ahead of Nico - who said Lewis's driving style wasn't suited to conservation? What it shows is his ability to adapt and adjust, probably better than any other driver on the grid.

TBH one of the good things about the stupid double points thing this year, it's not going to have an effect. Lewis will have the WDC tied up long before then. They will dump it after this year.

Spanky, you are likely right but sport is a tricky bit. Just when you think you know something, the racing gods have a good laugh at your expense.

Too true  I think Lewis could point to just that in Melbourne. :hehe:

Maybe he has one of the low reading sensors that Horner was talking about

Another meaningless record that Lewis can possibly rack up, most WDC points in a season. You know the double points thing was entirely Bernie's idea. Speaking of Bernie, where's the old coot, wasn't within camera shot anywhere last weekend. A sign that he's really in trouble?

Someone mentioned he spent the weekend at his home, taping off a 10 foot by 10 foot space and seeing just how long he can stay inside the box before he loses his mind.

Err…did I say that out loud?!

I think Nico has got a good chance of winning Monaco than the circuits coming after Monaco, He has to win here to take the wind out of Lewis' sail.
Saturday Qualifying is where this race will be decided between the Merc boys, It will be one cracker of a Quali seesion, Can't wait.

Martin Brundle had a chat with him - on the grid walk I believe. Asking how his business in Germany was going.

Yeah he did. Awkwardness hits lololol

But I think the next few weeks will be Hamilton's...Maybe...I mean the gap between Lewis and Nico seems a lot shorter than China but we'll have to see at Monaco. Should be a lot closer...

Not to take anything away from hamilton...could driving in clean air affect fuel efficiency? cuz idk

Good thing he's so short - gives him a bit more breathing room compared to others :P

For the race, qualifying is crucial because of the lack of overtaking opportunities; I can't see any other team but Mercedes taking the unlike Nico and Lewis take each other out!

I'm personally hoping to see Daniel Ricciardo climb to the top step of the podium, which is possible as Monaco is not a power circuit, I'd also like to see Romain Grosjean on the podium, he is definitely a much matured driver compared to 2011/12 when he earned his crash kid reputation. With Lotus being Renault powered and having less power is much less of a penalty in Monaco. I'm hoping to see more Ferrari and Renault powered cars in the top 10 instead of mostly Mercedes powered cars. My ultimate wish would be for either Bottas or Massa to take victory, I'd love to see Williams win again!

Driving in dirty air/slipstream can save more fuel as there is less air resistance. Lewis used 2.5KG less fuel than Nico too so Lewis wasn't using everything available.

The cars are design to work in clean air, dirty are is not only more turbulent it's also hotter which will also play a part in fuel efficiency. The other thing to note is Nico would have been using his DRS more than Lewis so that too would increase fuel use.

Moral is clean cool air everyday!
