I don't think it's going to end anytime soon either. I mean, yeah it might get a bit repetitive, but in 20 years time it will be the greatest thing ever, a modern 1988 McLaren. The start of this season has felt like asking Santa for a scooter and getting a Ducati. :D

It's the new short nose in Spain isn't it. It's ridiculously short from what I read. Be really interested to see that. They've spent a bucket load on this nose and the car was designed around this nose, so it should be devastating. But we've not seen it in actin yet.

Another thought flitting through my head is tyres. The Mercs tyre eating was voracious in Spain last year. This year the Mercs have been fine, different tyres, different car etc....but might there be any lingering tyre chewing that manifests itself in Spain?
Be interested to hear other views on that nose and those tyres.

I wonder if they'll "do a McLaren", and win every race except 1? Or can they go one better? :scratchchin:

Merc has been pretty good on tyres this year, probably the best too. They always seem to pit later than their closest rivals. I thought the short nose was introduced in China?

Such a stark contrast from last year!

I don't believe they've used it yet, but I could be wrong on that.

Oh Nin-Chin, you cheeky rascal…where did you get that image of the new nose?!!! On second thought, don't answer that. :hehe:

RC, I submit that the tyre eating days are for the most part behind Mercedes. Well, for one car. This isn't meant to be a Lewis vs. Nico rant but the evidence so far shows Lewis proving very quick on long stints. Most recently in China, Lewis sounded like he didn't want to come in for his first pitstop…he said the car felt so good and just kept stretching the window. Ominous, right? Nico, conversely, appears on the odd race to burns his tyres like a lovely spliff (err…not literally). It's not significant enough tho that other teams will bother Nico. He may end up just having a lonely race (gap in front and behind). It's alright.

Yeah Lewis did want to come in, becaus the car still 'felt' good to him. However, he was a second a lap slower than the two behind him.....

He probably left it a lap too late but that shows Merc are pretty good on the Pirelli Tyres.

It's nice having the luxury to be able to play with the window a bit, even if he lost a bit of time. It's a luxury no other team has.
