They brought the new shorter nose for China.

Oh Nin-Chin, you cheeky rascal…where did you get that image of the new nose?!!! On second thought, don't answer that.

It's the new short nose in Spain isn't it. It's ridiculously short from what I read. Be really interested to see that. They've spent a bucket load on this nose and the car was designed around this nose, so it should be devastating. But we've not seen it in action yet.
Another thought flitting through my head is tyres. The Mercs tyre eating was voracious in Spain last year. This year the Mercs have been fine, different tyres, different car etc....but might there be any lingering tyre chewing that manifests itself in Spain?
Be interested to hear other views on that nose and those tyres.
RC, I submit that the tyre eating days are for the most part behind Mercedes. Well, for one car. This isn't meant to be a Lewis vs. Nico rant but the evidence so far shows Lewis proving very quick on long stints. Most recently in China, Lewis sounded like he didn't want to come in for his first pitstop…he said the car felt so good and just kept stretching the window. Ominous, right? Nico, conversely, appears on the odd race to burns his tyres like a lovely spliff (err…not literally). It's not significant enough tho that other teams will bother Nico. He may end up just having a lonely race (gap in front and behind). It's alright.
