But wasn't fuel flow put there for safety reasons? To stop too great a speed discrepancy between cars? Isn't that how someone explained it to me? How then can they change it? Changes can happen for safety reasons I know, but not to make it more unsafe surely?
Speed discrepancy is created by the ERS - so that is not a real/valid reason.
Personally I believe the flow limit is to make F1 more production car relevant.
What the FiA told teams is that everyone would be treated equally. They would ensure that no matter how a team used the sensor, it would ensure equality. My understanding is that RBR is saying they can prove the sensor does not work the same based on its implementation and that sensors themselves have such a discrepancy in readings that teams are not treated equally.
"IF" RBR can prove either of those points, then I think they have a case.
