I think exams are needed for the same reason but I mean they shouldn't be done like how they do here!
Yup I realized that,even in the previous years some of them were like,look you did better than rest of your cousins now you can do waaay better than this,be in top 100 in the country etc which I think is needless to say,I don't think there's a bad intention but still not an okay thing to mention.
Looks similar to our system!Thank you
...I envy countries like UK,USA and Canada,we really have to pursue way more effort,and I think your system is more reasonable than just a few exams like we have here...
I am not a fan of exams, in all areas, to be honest. They may be necessary for some subjects/professions;
but, generally speaking, there are few jobs/professions where you can't refer to information/guidelines.
Exams are great in determining who has good recall; but, does that necessarily mean that what is being
recalled is actually understood? I think not...
Good luck to you!!
...I haven't been stressed from my parents but other relatives make it such a big deal why ffts isn't it my life you don't have to know everything...
Unfortunately, their curiousity may not be as altruistic as it may be presented!
They may subconsciously (or consciously) be comparing you and your scores/grades
with those of your cousins. Although "natural", it can definitely be disconcerting!!

...Wow that was long and not interesting but it's a milestone in my life
It was interesting, for a number of reasons. First of all, I like hearing how people feel when faced with challenges.
Secondly, here in Canada, we don't have entrance exams for colleges/university in most areas of study: admission
is usually based on marks on high school report cards, until a speciality is decided upon.
Thanks for sharing... hope it all goes well for you!!
Ditto here in Uganda. Gotta do well in high school or A'level as we call it which determines what you'll major in at uni. Well done, Elfi!
