Right there is something I just dont get.
I dont know how many of you have seen this - there is a #nomakeupselfie phenomenon sweeping through facebook. Basically women post photo's of themselves with no make-up, to 'raise awareness' for cancer.
Now I dont know if Im just grumpy or cynical or what - but I fail to see how this raises awareness. Im pretty aware of cancer without the need for clogging up my facebook feed with pictures of my friends looking rough.
I understand there is also a donations drive attached to it, but half the posts I see are not putting the correct donation ifno on - PLUS, there are so many people doing so many different ways to raise money for cancer (fun runs, serious runs, weight loss, hair shaving, detox etc), that are all far more hard work, and worthy of my donation, than just posting a selfie on facebook?
Am I being cynical, or is this just lazy people going "look at me, look at me, Ive done something selfless for charity".....?
