Right there is something I just dont get.

I dont know how many of you have seen this - there is a #nomakeupselfie phenomenon sweeping through facebook. Basically women post photo's of themselves with no make-up, to 'raise awareness' for cancer.

Now I dont know if Im just grumpy or cynical or what - but I fail to see how this raises awareness. Im pretty aware of cancer without the need for clogging up my facebook feed with pictures of my friends looking rough.

I understand there is also a donations drive attached to it, but half the posts I see are not putting the correct donation ifno on - PLUS, there are so many people doing so many different ways to raise money for cancer (fun runs, serious runs, weight loss, hair shaving, detox etc), that are all far more hard work, and worthy of my donation, than just posting a selfie on facebook?

Am I being cynical, or is this just lazy people going "look at me, look at me, Ive done something selfless for charity".....?

If anyone's bored or not really you can check out a web series channel on YouTube called An African City.
Oh and hello Vaptin.

Someone called SWMBO "a mess" on SWMBO no make up thing. She is now out for blood to find where this woman lives. Good times.

I would of thought that if you want to raise awareness for breast cancer then pictures of breasts is what is needed.

I can't be arsed with make up most of the time. I heard something about the no make up day on the radio. They don't know what to come up with next.

No make-up selfies to raise awareness for cancer? :banghead:
Didn't hear anything about it, on this side of the pond!!

Regardless, isn't that a bit condescending? I mean, does
not wearing make-up give you a better understanding of
how cancer patients feel? Of what they're going through,
physically, emotionally and psychologically?

"Some" women need full "war paint" in order to face the world.
Worse, they feel the need to belittle anyone who doesn't!

"Some" women count on the full "war paint" to attract a man.
Worse, they feel that's the only way they can.

"Some" women use it to enhance what they have and they do so
with class.

It's up to us to decide which of those women we want to be!

((p.s. if your wife does find this woman, I sincerely hope she gives her something to think about!))

She tried knocking down her door. Luckily she was out or to afraid to answer the door.

To put this into context I am a 22 stone bloke who used to play Prop in rugby. I would not Mess with swmbo in the mood she was in.
