Ferrari Land comes to Europe

untitledIn 2016 Ferrari lovers won’t have to travel to Abu Dhabi to experience their favourite brand’s theme park. Just over an hour from Barcelona, the theme park at PortAventura Resort will open, “Ferrari Land”.

There will be 75,000 sq metres dedicated to the Prancing Horse, and the park promotion states it will, “instil in all visitors unique emotions, feelings and adventures”.

The highlight of Ferrari Land will be the fastest “vertical accelerator” in Europe.

Let’s hope this Ferrari land doesn’t suffer the failings of its predecessor. Customer reviews regularly reveal parts of the Abu Dhabi park closed and rides often out of order.

Red everywhere....apparently the colour which makes chicks go wild in bed. Might not be a bad place to have a honeymoon. Symbolism of money and passion.

Its hard to make theme parks work commercially, just look at Euro Disney beginnings. You need a lot of kids ideally and kids might not be as enthusiastic about Ferrari as their parents. And with the older generation once is normally enough for something like that which further limits growth in revenues.

It makes sense to try and leverage Ferraris brand by selling merchandise etc, but a whole theme park might be a step too far. The museum and Maranello are fine but this could be a big financial challenge

edit: note to the Tifosi, this is not a negative attack on Ferrari, its just an opinion of the real world aspect

We also know this development process will not happen overnight and so we must be patient and concentrate hard on our work without watching what the others are doing. However, I’m sure that, if we work in the correct way, then right from the next race in Malaysia, the results can definitely be better.”
