This just gives me happiness I wish I could be at Oz, a remarkable Grand Prix. Gotta say, us Ferrari fans have the weirdest wigs

Apparently, the hairdressers are busy buying cars!

That's Australia down and...

Woo hoo!!
Points from both our boys!!

If they had a electrical issue that put them there in the race, that means it was only a very minimal problem, so where would they have been,

Great to see them both finish and score well given all of the uncertainties the teams were facing.

Ferrari Land comes to Europe

untitledIn 2016 Ferrari lovers won’t have to travel to Abu Dhabi to experience their favourite brand’s theme park. Just over an hour from Barcelona, the theme park at PortAventura Resort will open, “Ferrari Land”.

There will be 75,000 sq metres dedicated to the Prancing Horse, and the park promotion states it will, “instil in all visitors unique emotions, feelings and adventures”.

The highlight of Ferrari Land will be the fastest “vertical accelerator” in Europe.

untitled“But the new world of Ferrari at PortAventura does not end here. PortAventura will be home to the world’s first Ferrari-themed hotel. The 5-star luxury hotel will be themed throughout with the Ferrari brand for an incredible experience both on and off the rides”.

Let’s hope this Ferrari land doesn’t suffer the failings of its predecessor. Customer reviews regularly reveal parts of the Abu Dhabi park closed and rides often out of order.

A Ferrari themed 5-star hotel owned by Ferrari? Sounds like a nightmare.

Everything would be red, I'd feel like I was in an Amsterdam 'fun house'

Red everywhere....apparently the colour which makes chicks go wild in bed. Might not be a bad place to have a honeymoon. Symbolism of money and passion.

Its hard to make theme parks work commercially, just look at Euro Disney beginnings. You need a lot of kids ideally and kids might not be as enthusiastic about Ferrari as their parents. And with the older generation once is normally enough for something like that which further limits growth in revenues.

It makes sense to try and leverage Ferraris brand by selling merchandise etc, but a whole theme park might be a step too far. The museum and Maranello are fine but this could be a big financial challenge

edit: note to the Tifosi, this is not a negative attack on Ferrari, its just an opinion of the real world aspect

Interesting Fact!! Ferrari are the most powerful brand.

Basically, they make alot of stuff.

Wise words from Raikkonen

Maranello, 19 March –The two words that spring to mind after the Australian Grand Prix are patience and work. Scuderia Ferrari’s main aim is clearly to make the F14 T more competitive. The feeling is that many teams used this first GP of the season to get a better understanding of the complicated new cars and that raises the hope that, as the races go by, the spectacle will also improve.

Kimi Raikkonen, one of the most experienced drivers on the grid also believes that patience is the key. “I think that at the start of a season like this one, with new tyres but more than that, completely new cars, the main aim has to be getting to the chequered flag. We did just that and I was finally able to run a full race distance in this car.”

“I’ve been in this game for quite a while now,” continued Raikkonen, “and I can say this is definitely not the first time that I’ve gone through a difficult first race weekend. We identified some general problems which we have to tackle in Maranello and there are other aspects linked to the set-up on my car to do with the brake-by-wire system. Getting this device working correctly is definitely something that contributes to the general feeling from the car, because it has a great effect on corner entry. Having said that, the F14 T improved right through Friday and Saturday and not getting into Q3 was not down to the competitiveness of the car.”

Kimi then returned to the key word of the moment. “First of all, we have to stay calm. The team is united, we know what we have to do and how to go about finding more performance. We also know this development process will not happen overnight and so we must be patient and concentrate hard on our work without watching what the others are doing. However, I’m sure that, if we work in the correct way, then right from the next race in Malaysia, the results can definitely be better.”

Hmmn, that would be more words from Kimi in one sitting than in the whole of last year. I wonder if Ferrari 'edit' everything the drivers say, or if Kimi has suddenly become a PR expert?

Can you imagine Kimi saying this sentence "I've been in this game for quite a while now".

Picture it.

Just picture it.

And you have your answer.
