I'm looking forward to the mid-field battle this race. Obviously the front is going to be won by one of the two mercs just driving away from the rest of the field; hopefully it won't be as bad as the latter part of 2013 but....Yeah....

Take heart!! The only guarantees in Life are death and taxes!!

Comparing both red bulls. It showed how ricciardo drove more calm and tried to balance the torque by short shifting. He drove very smart. So when vettel says he was unlucky, also, ricciardo knows how to use the new power plant.

Also, almost all drivers were talking about finishing the race with fuel. That is everyone main goal; to save fuel.

Lewis isnt good at the technical driving. he is more outright pace. So will we see Hamilton being brilliant in quali, but worse off to nico in the race.

Can you supply some proof that Lewis isn't good at technical driving? I am willing to accept you changing your mind and realising that you don't know what technical driving really means

Lewis isnt good at the technical driving.

This is interesting, I guess if you repeat something enough it becomes the accepted "truth"? Lewis has beaten Alonso who's quite the racecraft guy, and he's beaten Mr. Technical driver himself, often times by an embarrassingly large margin so I just don't get it when everyone says that he's not technical. What is it, what's the measure and the criteria?

I guess we'll see what happens this year, but I believe that quite a few fallacies up and down the grid will be very handily dispelled.

Yup Q1 for the Mercs on the prime everyone else bar STR I think on options. Then the rain came down and it got closer. The Mercs are at least a second and a half, if not 2 ahead of the closest car in the dry I reckon. The rain flattered RBR with its downforce and Ricc had the skills to make use.

That and an excellent call to go on the inters at the right time. For some reason Alonso did it completely the wrong way round. Started on inters when he needed wets to set a banker then pitted for wets just as inters were probably the tyre to be on.

Its truly scary how thick people lap up simple concepts and close their minds to anything that might contradict their hard earned 'learning'

For years we have had Brundle conditioning everyone that Lewis is bad with his tyres and Jenson is good with his. Despite evidence from Pirelli and the team, despite races that showed the opposite, despite races that Lewis used as a masterclass of tyre management, despite Jenson demonstrating conclusively that he conserves tyres only at the cost of using them or driving fast, even today some still say Lewis cannot (not willnot) conserve tyres or drive a stalking races.

And now with Nico, despite us seeing last year how he is almost as fast and that the difference came with Nico flaking in Q3 a few times and going missing in a few races. Still the new thing is that Nico has an advantage as he is more cerebral. But where does this cerebral brainpower get you on track beyond making a choice of a few options constructred and preprogrammed by engineers if you make mistakes at the crucial points or lose the back end when on the limit?

So saving fuel is the new technical frontline? Some drivers can save fuel by doing what? driving a certain way, or driving in 2 or 3 ways. And only clever drivers can learn how to do these ways
Only cerebral technical drivers can change gear at a certain point?, or can wait a second between lifting and hitting the brakes? Or only cerebral drivers can change their driving style or change engine mode when advised by the engineer

Its embarrassing that ex drivers who were too thick to even win races are now smart enough to pass disinformation to the thickos out there who wouldnt understand the difference beween technical and analytical if it crawled up their arses and died

Gotcha... so the rest of us are blessed to have someone as smart and savvy as you to tell us how stupid we are!!

Hmmm... not sure why I'm not feeling the Halo!!

(( couldn't resist!! ))

Well done Lewis. Lovely pole position, driving such twitchy cars this year.

I must say, today's qualifying session was a bit odd for me. The engines are so quiet that a lot of the atmosphere was lost.
Not sure I going to like these V6's.

Not 'the rest of us', anyone unfortunate enough to fall into that category will identify with it and feel it applies to them. The rest will understand and feel that it relates to others
Personally I question every media or establishment cliche I come across to the point of going into rants on here

I have not read this thread, so not sure what everyone else has thought of Qualiy, here is what I think

Well done to Danny, Maggy, Koby, and Max all shone in there own way.
Lotus need to sort there s*** out.
I was disappointed with Kimi's pace.
WTF has the RB10 got it's pace from!!

Horner said that Seb had an MGU problem and that is why he was so far off Dan's pace when he was interviewed by Sky

The RB does have a good aero package, and in the wet it's all about downforce and less about sheer power; it's a nice equaliser, but that Red Bull was always a fast car; it just needed an engine that works.
