Lets once and for all set this straight. Pirelli are the official tyre supplier. They must provide each team with tyres and track usage. This is a requirement according to the regs (so they would know who is swapping etc)

Unless anyone has proof stating otherwise we need to avoid spreading rumours and giving false hope about the times.

1. Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) 1m36.880s on Soft New
2. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) 1m37.879s on Medium New

Pirelli are indeed listing him as on used softs.

But the sky report I posted earlier had Mercedes saying SS.

The information is out there if you look. You dont expect to be spoon fed everything do you......

If you make claims about something which people do not know of, maybe a link will be helpful? How do I know you're not on LSD or something.

It's like me saying Flavio has undergone a schmex change and leave it at that. You gonna believe me?

Official website: http://www.pirelli.com/corporate/en/pre ... y-2-march/

THAT'S where we look for info. If you have an alternate source (an official website) take an extra 2 seconds to copy and paste it here.

I know what mnm would say to people making claims they cannot and will not back up :yikes:

It would be good though sometimes if people would avoid spreading untruths,

Pirelli are the final word on this, anything else is at best a misunderstanding and at worst plain dumb

I get my information from Mercedes. They are the team that ran the car and put the tyres on the car.

Anything else is immoral, and is just lies spread to justify their own existence.

But I wouldn't expect you lot to understand that, as you don't have my superior intellect.

Come on, there is confusion here. I've posted the Merc link and the Pirelli link and they differ.

Im just confused as to why Hammenstein and Clockin are ignoring what Mercedes - the actual team who put the tyres on - are saying?

Is it because they dont believe Mercedes? Or that it doesnt fit with their agenda...?

Merc could be sandbagging, like every one knows they are German and softs/supersofts may not translate well enough for those already convinced the times were set on SS

Would it be the first time a team has made a 'mistake'? Duh

However Pirelli are contractually obliged to supply information that is FACTUAL so in this instance Pirelli is the last word.

Anyone saying otherwise needs to s*** or get off the pot, its getting boring

They might be contractually obliged - but suppliers do make mistakes - it wouldnt be the first time....

And if its getting boring - please feel free to stop taking part in the conversation. No-one is forcing you to partake in the thread.

I personally don't believe everything that comes out of Mercedes simply because they have their own agenda, be it sandbagging, deliberate misrepresentation, etc to put of rivals.

I'd expect Pirelli to supply basic info which is RELIABLE and TRUTHFUL since they are neutral and it is up to the fans to analyse what's going on with the info at hand. Unfortunately, we're denied even this little nugget since the tyre supplier doesn't know how to update their stupid website. If indeed Merc did the run on the SS.

As it stands now, Merc have people convinced that that time was on the SS....but of course they'd prefer this instead of having rivals already on their toes knowing Merc has way more in hand.

This confusion is :bs: and not something I'd expect from this sport.

Ok Hammer, good to see someone can admit there is confusion, and that there is a chance Pirelli could be wrong.
