There already are women in F1.

Ah but that's ok! It's ok to ONLY be on display, it's not ok to be on display and race racing cars.

Dont bite, RC

its a start, there will be a woman whizzing round the track for the first time in 22 years

just a shame she doesnt look like the above and is willing to dress like her in the paddock :irked:

Being equal doesn't need to come at the price of being the same.

 not many racing drivers the same as Danica, I'd say she's pretty unique at the moment.

So if let's say Alonso works as a male stripper during the off season, he's the same as all male strippers out there? This doesn't make any sense whatsoever....how does Danica become the same as a pitbabe if she models in her spare time?

Its a shame that some pretty attractive women who play on their own terms in a man orientated environment find their biggest critics are other women - especially those who dont have the same choice to make.
Sagi tell us this, you were in Danicas place and were asked to model, would you say no and stick to your principles or would you say the end justifies the means?

Would it be better to have no women on track rather than a woman who models and earns 15mill a year?

It's ridiculous that I can't voice an opinion without coming under scrutiny for not agreeing with the majority!

I believe women are intelligent enough to recognize the difference between taking advantage of opporunities they may be presented with (i.e. Ms. Patrick has choices as to which products she wants to endorse) and falling into the "trap" of exploiting their sexuality when faced with those opportunities.

What any woman does/chooses is obviously her right; but, that doesn't mean that all women have to agree with those choices, any more than all men agree with the choices any man has the right to make.

Being equal to her male counterparts does not necessarily mean that Ms. Parker must feel the need to be the same as other young women who are in the limelight exploiting their sexuality in order to make a name for themselves.

 The shame is that you do try to turn the tables, every chance you get!!
This thread is not about myself, but about women in F1, which means "technically"
it shouldn't be about Ms. Parker, either.

The shame is that some men feel the need to defend by attacking. I don't have to
agree with any woman exploiting her sexuality just so that I can be seen as being
an equal to those men. I do not have to have the same opinion to be an equal.
...Sagi tell us this, you were in Danicas place and were asked to model, would you say no and stick to your principles or would you say the end justifies the means?...

Honestly? I can say I'd probably stick to my principles; but, then, I'm not in my 20s
and that sort of thing doesn't turn my head!!

My turn: tell us, Cookin, if this were your daughter, your mother, your significant
other, your sister and she were asked to model, would expect them to say no and
stick to their principles or would the end justify the means?

...Would it be better to have no women on track rather than a woman who models and earns 15mill a year?

I hope you're not suggesting that to be in F1 a woman should expect to exploit her sexuality, scantily clad and splayed out on the hood of a car, like an ornament?

It depends if she's a Kournikova or a Sharipova. Style over substance or the other way round. Saturation also. That will skew the perception greatly. It's more than just getting your kit off or not.

Sagi you have now confused me completely. It's not modelling per se you object to, but modelling that you personally don't find tasteful?
I actually find Danica's picture more tasteful than the ones you posted. perhaps it's because she's more attractive....well I think she. The fist girl looks like she's on the way to an S&M party, which is fine if that's the looks she's after. But why is that ok but not Danica's ? I don't get that at all.

To answer a question you posed to cookie. Would you be happy if you're daughter was a model? If you addressed it to me I'd have no objections whatsoever.
