With the new Sauber driver and Wolff are we finally getting women in A) competitive cars and who are B) actually competent racing drivers?

Without knocking what either of these two ladies have done, if they where male would they be in F1? Or if there husband did not own part of the team?

How many of the male drivers on the grid have earned their position through something other than skill

The Sauber driver (I feel bad as I've forgotten her name but it was long) has gotten where she is on merit and skill.

And do we think thats enough to warrant a test / practice / affiliated driver seat in an F1 team?

Im not saying it isnt. Its just not an obvious, or much used, route into F1.

More credentials than Danica and Bernie has been talking about her for years. Anywhoo, the thing with F1 is that previous success in the normal channels doesn't always translate into F1 success. I don't think teams would be giving them these shots if they weren't at least testing well. There's also the underlying factor of size and weight limitations becoming much more important in a race seat.

Is Simona the girl that looks like you wouldn't want to mess with her? I mean mess with her as in cross her. Looks a bit scary? Probably needs a bit of that if she's getting into f1....if I've got the right girl

With all the weight restrictions, women who normally have smaller frames it is playing to their advantage.

That's a pro. A con is they have to work much harder to develop the necessary muscles. Like neck muscles.

Susie looked to be the top female driver around the turn of the century in the UK, she does not seem to have done that well once she swapped to general motorsport.

Simona looks slightly better on paper.
