At leas stateside, the popularity of LMS is no where near F1, which of course is no where near the popularity of dirt track midget racing.

Hammer278 wrote:They do, but so what....contracts can be ripped apart, simply a better deal and reassurance to McLaren that this won't cheapen the rship. Honda aren't in the sport to do charity for McLaren, they're in it for an ROI too and if Redbull come knocking I can't see Honda not hearing them out.So, McLaren wants the exclusivity; but, Honda is open for business?

Is this deal good for Renault or the teams? The answer might help you answer your own question.

Looks like some sort of pulling wool over the eyes of the public. But I wonder what tricks all 3 manufacturers will have up their sleeves. I get there are constraints in the regulations but if customer teams of 1 manufacturer go much faster than the rest thanks purely to the PU skirting the rules effectively, I wouldn't be very surprised. The engine maker and the team have to come up with an optimum soultion for the new rules first (1 that balances going fast with actually working withing the new regs) Only then could they come up with a way of skirting rules that other teams or even the regulators havent thought of.
