The appearance of the Paul and Ringo on the Grammy Awards show reminded me of something I've been meaning to ask you, here!

What songs do you personally feel should not be performed "differently" from their original form, even if someone else covers them?

Can't think of any where the song was destroyed by a remake, but one remake that needed to happen was Sweet Dreams, from Eurythmics to Marylin M. He coked it up and then some.

Personally, I don't think this classic needed a remake:

Especially not Madonna's version:

Must admit, I do like a lot of her work and admire her talent/business savvy.

What about her s*** granny looking, floor grinding, dancing?

Any queen song ever that isn't sung by Freddie

I mean really:

It looked better on her, when she was younger.
I guess sooner or later, we all need to grow up, eh?

Alphaville's "Forever Young" has been covered many times, but IMO, the original is just the best.

I can't think of any remakes I like better than the original. There must be some I'm sure, but the only one that comes to mind is Eric Clapton's "unplugged version of Layla. Does that count?

Someone did a cover of a nirvana song that kept getting played on the radio last year that made me so angry every time.
