mclaren may have not protested because they thought it was legit

More likely there was no point. If they found Alonso had lifted and impose some form of penalty from this race, it wouldn't affect the race outcome from McLaren's point of view for either driver (ie no more points than they currently have). It also just stirs up a whole hornets nest again, and I'm sure McLaren want to put the politics of last season behind them. Which is a shame really...yeah, I want to put the politics behind us, but it means no-one's ever going to agree about what Alonso did or didn't do in the incident!

Seems odd to me that a team have to protest before the stewards will investigate. If they think a dangerous move has been made surely they will look at it anyway. I thought Alonso slowed quickly(but it is hard to tell) If he did its dangerous and he needs at least a slap on the wrist.
I can see why McLaren dont want to protest. They dont want to give anyone any opportunity to call them cheats and throw them out,

watching it again i have changed my mind, i dont think Alonso lifted.

you can see the line Hamilton takes through the corner compared to Alonso Lewis got the better exit speed which would explain why he was so much faster and from the onboard appears as though Alonso lifts. Lewis has said he went right and as did Alonso at the same time so was just a unfortunate incident which is just racing

cheers for the link SCF

Bottom line: LH had a bad hair day, miserable start, running into FA (no fault at FA in my opinion), and showing all kinds of gestures to fellow drivers. Zero points. Keep on doing this kind of stuff and see where you end up in the championship...

Yeah, it's what I said earlier. As dodgy a character Alonso can be at times, risking putting himself out of a race like that isn't something I feel that he would do.

totally agree

nothing better!!!

Where is hamilton's daddy?

Being forced to talk to Steve Rider about how he worked 32 x pi hours a day to fund Lewis' karting for the 12,348th time.
