In saying that, Massa was red-hot favourite for pole, and - again - he crumbled under the pressure. I still think Ferrari are the fastest and that Massa is the favourite to win, but the fact he's not one of the top drivers is being shown more and more: unless he's on pole position, he can't win because he can't overtake, and now without driver aids, there is nowhere to hide.
McLaren did more or less as expected, but it's very clear that BMW are going to be in the mix now. The days of McLaren and Ferrari having a bad day and still being guaranteed a podium are over. McLaren will have their work cut out tomorrow.
Honda did well. Hats off them to for starting to turn things around.
Red Bull were very disappointing. I thought they would have been slightly closer to the front.
Bourdais did pretty well again. His car looked a lot better than Vettel's, perhaps because of his experience he was able to get a better setup.
