I'm very happy with this result :D! First top three starting position for BMW since '05 but Massa has the fastest car on all fuel load's so I predict a win or a spin . Most likely Massa will win unless Kimi or Lewis have a perfect race/pitstop stategy.

My top three prediction's for the race:

1. Massa
2. Kimi
3. Lewis or Kovi

Kubica did very well and probably could have gone faster had he not have flat-spotted his tyres. In saying that, Massa was red-hot favourite for pole, and - again - he crumbled under the pressure. I still think Ferrari are the fastest and that Massa is the favourite to win, but the fact he's not one of the top drivers is being shown more and more: unless he's on pole position, he can't win because he can't overtake, and now without driver aids, there is nowhere to hide.

McLaren did more or less as expected, but it's very clear that BMW are going to be in the mix now. The days of McLaren and Ferrari having a bad day and still being guaranteed a podium are over. McLaren will have their work cut out tomorrow.

Honda did well. Hats off them to for starting to turn things around.

Red Bull were very disappointing. I thought they would have been slightly closer to the front.

Bourdais did pretty well again. His car looked a lot better than Vettel's, perhaps because of his experience he was able to get a better setup.

Pleased to see Jenson not rock bottom of the top ten as he was expected to be, an exceptional effort from him. Slightly disappointed to see Kimi behind Lewis from a personal point of view, but Lewis has turned it round somewhat this weekend so fair play to him, Raikkonen is the man to beat in the short term, not Massa. Still expecting a Ferrari 1-2 in the race but you never know what surprises Massa has in store. :?

McLaren Fan, I can't say that was Massa crumbling under pressure. His lap time was immensely quick and he was only 0.027s slower than Kubica. He was over a tenth quicker than Hamilton was and throughout the session much faster than everyone else.

It's great for Kubica and BMW to get this pole. I really hope they win.

Massa had the form and the car to go out there and get the pole. He was easily the fastest all weekend. He admitted himself he made a mistake on his flying lap when it counted. Had he not have made that mistake, he would almost certainly have been on pole. That seems to me like somebody who can't produce the good when the chips are down and it will do his future career at Ferrari no favours. Domenicali hardly give a ringing denial of the Alonso rumours in his interview in ITV.

Dont forget that Massa mentioned he was heldup by traffic on his last flying lap  . Just laying all the card's on the table. I believe that Massa will pass Kubica within the first lap.

I think it was a very interesting qualifying Jenson did brilliantly so did Kubica, Massa didn't do as well as I thought he would I definitely think that Kimi is heavier on fuel than Massa and Kubica. Hopefully from my point of view Lewis was also heavier on fuel than Massa and Kubica. I can see Kubica and Massa pulling away at the front challenging each other a lot on the first lap. With Lewis, Kimi and maybe Henki fighting with each other on the first lap.

Kubica is a very good driver. Down to earth kind of guy. It was about time to see more of BMW on the top three. I am always fascinated how technical are the responses of both Robert K. and Nick H. at conferences...their use of terminology to describe their cars is different from other drivers.

It will be nice to see Kubica on the podium tomorrow although Ferrari will prevail once again.

My day has come at last! Brilliant performance by Robert! If by chance he gets out in front and runs I feel BMW will be in the pits first and Massa 2-3 laps after and Kimi 5-6 after BMW. Kimi is a long flyer, usually the last to pit and scorching the times leading up to that first pit stop. Who know what strategy McLaren has, but it ought to be interesting. All I can say is WOW!! BMW!!

what do you think about kubica??

Wow well done by Kubica! Before the start of the season I was thinking Heidfeld was to do a better job, but so far Kubica has done really good. So it should be interesting to see how his race goes and if he can defend / strategize against Massa, Lewis and Kimi.

I really enjoy these 3-team podiums. Now that's somehting I'm hoping to see more often! this pretty much kills those dreaded team orders... and brings out some good ole "all out racing" and strategy.

Massa on 2nd is kind of a surprise; but Kimi is 4th, so I'd like to think its not all down to Massa duckling, but rather some race-oriented strategy...

Great job by Button and the ussual great by Trulli are good for the mid-field interest. Alonso didn't do too bad either and proves he can squeeze any car he's given. Also, Bourdais did ok... and as i said in another thread, just gotta give some time to adjust and show his form.

I didn't see that statement about FM having made a mistake - all I heard him say was that he was held up by traffic in q3.

Congrats BMW Sauber - that's sweet! Theissen said they want to see a pole and a race win this season. Part one: check at the third race of the season - well done! :D
Part two: maybe tomorrow? Now THAT would be a bang.

God I was soooo happy when Massa came in and didnt better Kubica!!! I just hope Massa doesnt pass Kub on the first lap, but this shows that there will no longer be only Ferrari and McLaren drivers on the podium like last year, it will interesting and more fun to watch! I was a little dissapointed in Heidfeld, but I think he is better at racing then qualifying. As for Williams, I'm glad to see them come back from what happened at Malaysia, I thought Rosberg would qual a little higher since in practice he was pretty much flying!!

Bourdais always seem to impress, and I hope he does well tmrw. All in all I'm happy with the results, except for Red Bull :( All I can say is GO BMW!!!

The BMW does look pretty light on fuel, but if there's anyone who gets the most out of that car - despite its ugliness - it's Kubica. It's good to see Nico back in the top 10 but it was pretty frustrating when Trulli did his usual tricks and got ahead by a hundredth, but Nico is goot at starts and will nail Trulli into turn 1, the Williams is a good race car and Nico's probably high on fuel. Dissapointed with Nakajima though, he does well in practice and then does crap in qualifying - just like Wurz last year.
