Y'all still mad about maldonado? :hehe::twisted:

Is he your new favourite driver? :groucho:

Not that mad since I don't expect Lotus to be qualifying in the top 5 very much next season. As long as psycho guy stays away from the front end at the start of the race, things should be cool.

If Lotus can tame PaMal like they tamed RoGro and actually get themselves an engine deal for 2014, they could be formidable

"It'll be interesting to see how well Lotus will qualify here in Australia, as they are still lacking an engine... It seems Eric is PUSHING the car along!"

...

"And Grosjean in his 1 man powered car is in 20th, just 0.735 seconds in front of the Marussias'"

I don't think it's all doom and gloom with the new partnership at Lotus. Grosjean has finally tamed his inconsistency and matured into a very very good racer. If they can follow the same process with Maldonado and sort out his psychology and impulsive behaviour, which I believe they can, then he IS naturally a very quick driver given the right equipment. Race wins like his at Spain don't happen by accident.

Certainly not the finished product by ANY stretch of the imagination, but it DOES have the potential to become a race winning combination in time.

It's not all doom and gloom, but it IS a major compromise. Without his PDVSA money, Maldonado would have been left out in the cold.

We're not talking about a rookie any more, he's been in the sport three years, and not only has he not really improved but he's one to throw the toys out when things don't go his way. His expectation is that a team should build around him even when being beaten by a rookie team mate. It's not going to be different at Lotus.

wow. hopefully they don't see a massive drop in performance due to this, although it seems inevitable if you're missing something that is pretty much the heart of the car. it'd be a shame if lotus suffer badly from this, especially since maldonado is finally out of that sh1t williams car and grosjean is starting to become the total package

They will see a drop in performance if Boullier has to push the car around the track

well Lotus did request the Jerez test to be pushed back in time. maybe Bouillier is still working on his fitness
