There is a possibility that Alonso and Ferrari have both decided that he shouldn't post anything regarding the team and that Ferrari would play the "heavy" so he doesn't look bad with his fans!! :D

((p.s. I don't necessarily believe that; but, since we're speculating, I figured I may as well come up with something wild and wacky!! ))

I think this is Ferrari reminding Alonso that he is an employee just like Kimi

Ferrari should really spend more time making a better car, stuff like this seem so undignified.

Just goes to prove that there are people behind the legend!
Just as on any other team, in any other sport, in any other part of life!!

No it's okay I want them to concentrate on stuff like this....Alonso's heroic wrestling of a top 3 car and his frustrations never gets old. :D

And, that's how it should be!! Again, there really is NO "need" NOR any given "right" to share everything every day with everyone!!

But Ferrari's not the army. I can see it with the army, state secrets , battle plans and all that. Careless talk costs lives etc etc. but just a driver saying his car isn't as fast as he'd like..........I doubt they've got that contracted in. He's not giving away any technical secrets, Just giving an opinion. If it was in the contract then Luca wouldn't need to do the big 'I am' talk. I still think it's a power play between the two of them.

I don't work for the army, either; but, there is confidentiality component that can't be ignored.
Although most companies, corporations, etc may not have those stipulations "written" into their
rules and regulations, does not preclude the right to insist/expect their employees to accept this
sort of "dictate" once it has been deemed necessary, by the powers that be at the helm!

The army is different because soldiers sign away certain freedoms when they join. Thats why the only ones who write books etc do so after leaving, and after making sure they are not reservists or still under recall power of the armed forces.
same as the security services who sign official secrets act, effectively signing away the right other citizens have of free speech. Even the head of M15 was free to write a book AFTER leaving.

Ferrari is not allowed to remove the rights of the citizen under Eu employment law. Therefore its on shaky ground, just like scientology or other organisations trying to enforce secrecy by coersion and under hand tactics.

How can you stop an employee telling people how he feels about himself in the context of his employment. Maybe Montezemolo thinks Mussolinini is still running the country

I would hope the only reason they don't write books while they're in the military is because they are
busy doing their jobs and don't have time to write volumes?

I would imagine that Ferrari/employers have certain "rights" even under the EU business law, no?
I'm sure that di Montezemolo would have been informed before imposing that sort of expectation!

Just a quick question, why is it that you have F1 drivers "forced" to do commercials/advertising/publicity
appearances? Is that not taking away their rights? Don't some of those "jobs" make them look like fools?
