Is Luca implying that timo glock let hamilton by?

I see why at the time he may have thought that, as a lot of people said it at the time. Glock did lose 18 seconds on the last lap, and considering the previous laps were comparably paced you could see why there was a conspiracy theory, however, the reason Glock lost the time was because the rain got heavier as time went on and he effectively lost all grip on the final lap (he gambled and didnt pit for wets) and if you saw when Lewis passed him, he barely had traction to get up the hill to the line!

Like I say, at the time I could see why there was a conspiracy theory, but 5 years after when the logical reason has been proven? Bit of sour grapes I think!

Anyone with knowledge of F1 can see there was drama but only because McLaren cut it fine

They needed a place and they got it

Glock was artificially out of place, and was either gonna drop places or pit for tyres

It's like saying the driver starting 10th on the grid and being elevated to first when everyone in front pitted was rightfully leading the race when he couldn't make the flag on the same set of tyres and fell back. What's mysterious about that? Oh he was the winner of the race for a few laps?

It's just mental that Montezemolo would propagate this idiocy. It's like Massa insisting he should have won WDC in 2008 because of crash gate denying him a few points.

And all those who bang on about the closeness of the result- 1 point miss the point, the team planned to win by a point . It's what happens in last race deciders you strategise to win the WDC it the race

The only drama was McLaren actually making the right call by covering the leaders and not Glock

Yeah I bet old hypo himself doesnt find it mysterious that Lewis' gearbox prevented him winning the WDC or that the team left him out in Shanghai. Or that neither McLaren driver was able to win that year.

Luca needs to put 08 into the past, just like 76. There was plenty of injustice (so fair enough to be peeved) but it's done and dusted. Use it as inspiration, learn your lessons but move on.

Anyone have a favourite corner at this circuit? Turn 1 is still visually pretty epic in my opinion.

Anyone remember where the most overtaking took place last year?

From what I remember tursn 3 through 9 although very beautiful to watch a car flow through there, they were free of any overtakes whatsoever. Hamilton didn't have an easy time overtaking Seb last year. Turns one eleven and twelve and I believe nineteen saw some action last year.

Oh and the winner gets the stetson! :horse:

Yeah twelve and thirteen had the most overtaking, the turns just after the back straight. That is the stadium section, kinda like the one at hockenheimring. Turned out to be pretty epic last year!!

This race being at home, we are going to have all practice sessions covered. Alexander Rossi will be driving for Caterham in FP1 and there's actually going to be announcers at the GP. Plus I get to watch the race with a burger and a beer instead of toast and coffee! :cloud9:

Rumour has it that Hulk turned down an offer to fill in for Kimi for the next two races. Wonder who will get it? They have Valsecchi and d'Ambrosio, of course, and I believe Kovalainen and de la Rosa are both available for a short-term substitute role.

Edit: Seems Finnish media are claiming Kovalainen to Lotus is a done deal. Someone has even been bold enough to add him to this season's page on Wikipedia. :hehe:
