I have one that my family laugh about - but I'm deadly serious....

Spaghetti

Yes, spaghetti - the pasta

What an utterly pointless food. Spaghetti just annoys me. It's messy and annoying to eat no matter how good your spaghetti gathering technique is. Because even then it can still splash sauce, unravel etc.

There is no justification for its continued existence given the vastly superior alternatives such as penne, farfale and rigatoni.

I genuinely refuse to eat any meal that contains spaghetti. It is the foodstuff of morons. :nono:

Porca miseria - che sacrilegio :yikes:

What a philistine statement to make! :director: Get your technique straightened out - the taste reward is immense! Yes, for certain dishes such as pesto there's no substitute for al dente spaghetti :banghead:

But what's the point, when you get literally the same taste from superior forms of pasta that don't come with the same hassle? I will NEVER budge on this!!

I can tell you're not a gourmet! Pesto on spaghetti tastes so much better than on penne - try it out.

Bolognese needs spaghetti.

Try a lower spin speed and a smaller amount on your spoon and it should work fine.

Nothing says I had a good meal more than a spaghetti stain on a white shirt. :hehe:

On a similar not to the white bacon. My mate is a military chef (cook, as no one has ever passed the chefs course)

As the RAF only provides 3 shirts, he says that if you served spag bol every day of the week. It would go better on tuesdays and thursdays (the second and last day the shirt would be worn)

Or say 'f*** it' and use a knife....?

We use linguini instead of spaghetti.

Don't think I have any OCDs, at least no one's ever told me if I do. I do have a lot of anxiety stuff going on though.

Ziti!! Se vi sente Mamma, vi uccide a tutti e due!!

First of all, eating spaghetti is not only an art, it is the cultural cornerstone of thousands of Italian dishes!!
Secondly, refusing to eat spaghetti is tantamount to cultural suicide!!
Also, what's next? Fettucine? Buccatini? Linguini? I mean, really?? :whip:

But what's the point, when you get literally the same taste from superior forms of pasta that don't come with the same hassle? I will NEVER budge on this!!

You like your pasta "easy"!! :yikes:
No wonder your family laugh about it!! :D

p.s. I have a friend who refuses to eat "fresh" pasta... seems he had a near-death experience as a youngster
which seems to have scarred him! That's understandable!!

Lets add closet doors being left open, discovered that one today, my wife leaves them open constantly, three times I have closed the closet door in our bedroom today, amazingly she even opens the closet door in my office, there's nothing in there except computer bits and stationary, argh!

Along with closet doors, add drawers of any kind, but especially dresser drawers. My gf does that and it drives me crazy. I also have to have all hangers in the closet pointing the same way. :drink:
