Massa out of Ferrari = World Manufactures Championship for Ferrari

Well, Ferrari will need a much better car than they've had in recent years, for a start. 2008 seems a long while ago now. (Same for McLaren).

Ferrari needs a pair of drivers that would score points within 10-15% of each other. If Massa scored points to be within 10-15% of what Alonzo has scored in the past couple of year Ferrari would have won championships

It's driver consistancy not crying is what wins championships

Near enough is never good enough, however, 2010 and last year were very close things. With the amount of damage on Seb's car and pointing in the opposite direction just after the start I don't think anyone would have been surprised had he not been able to continue.

Perhaps a "little" better might do the trick.

Massa eyeing vacant Lotus seat for 2014

Felipe Massa: "In my opinion, Lotus has a competitive car, which is what I want"

Massa will be replaced by Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari next season, opening up the possibility of a straight swap next year. Lotus has confirmed it is in talks with a number of drivers about 2014 and will make a decision "shortly".

Massa said Lotus appeals to him as the most competitive option remaining on the grid.

"We are negotiating," he told Globo Esporte. "In my opinion, Lotus has a competitive car, which is what I want.

"We are having many conversations to try to find a way, not only for me but for Lotus, to continue with a good car."

Massa revealed he had also talked to McLaren, but said Lotus is currently his best option.

"I've had contact with McLaren but I cannot judge, it's hard to say," he added. "With Lotus, the contact was very good."

Last week Massa's manager Nicolas Todt told Canal Plus that Massa is determined to land a deal at a competitive team next year.

"He never would go to a smaller team to be second driver," Todt said. "We need to find a car that can challenge at the front in F1. The best place available is undoubtedly the one left by Raikkonen at Lotus."

Won't it be a HOOT if he gets the Lotus seat and Lotus do a Mercedes next year and Ferrari do a McLaren. Ok unlikely, but the 1% chance of it happening might just spur Massa on eyeing a fresh challenge...away from the environment he's been in for donkey years...as a donkey.

not a bad fit in my opinion. but damn it man, does anyone mean anything they say? hard to take the guy seriously when he said he'd not driver for a lesser team than Ferrari.

I find it a hoot that Massa is "negotiating" in the media!!

Tells me that Massa :violinist: is desperate  for a ride. A driver who is wanted doesn't "negotiate" in the media as he and the team would do it behind the scenes :grouphug: until they have a deal. I also read today that Massa is talking to McLaren.

I beleive it's all a ploy to get a seat at Williams

Careful, even the cutest little lady could be hiding something: Image

Nothing wrong if she also has a little "devil" in her :D

But normally the "devil" is attached to somebody else.
