It seems terms will one receive a ten place grid drop for filling a wheel that then comes off that seems grossly unfair to me on the driver!
Ridiculous. The driver gets penalized again for something completely out of his control....FIA are a bunch of retarded mutts.
So what do you guys think would be a reasonable penalty, and one that will make teams act that little bit more careful? A fine on the teams already happens, so $$$ obviously doesn't matter? Points deduction from the WCC? That might work I suppose?
Problem is, teams are striving to do a sub 2sec stop. With that sort of pressure on teams, no matter what the penalty, human error will still occur. I think a minimum pit-stop time would be a good way to go forward - say 5sec. That way they have plenty of time. But again, human error could still occur - but I believe it would be much less frequent.
There have been a lot of these loose tyres over the last few years (more so than I remember ever happening before?), and something does need to be done.
EDIT:
Oh it seems they have discussed minimum pit-stop time and the teams rejected it.
