It could be done. When traction control and active suspension were banned the first time around, teams simply disabled certain parts of their coding in the control units. The point is, I'm saying it won't have been McLaren's ECU for last year. But, as it was designed by part of their own group, the McLaren understanding of the unit will be much greater than the other teams' so they will be able to integrate it into their car perfectly without little trouble.
A number of teams did. But it would have to be a completely new ECU because of the new regulations. The McLaren ECU won't be the one that they used last year, but they will have had the opportunity to test it whilst it was still in development, whilst others only got it once it was completed.how can this ECU be the one that McLaren used last year? when this one has no traction control nor engine braking?
Its a new ECU for everyone.
Magnetti Marelli units awww not fair they would favour Ferrari
