I don't think blaming a kerb in Silverstone is the answer to the current tyre problem.

Maybe people should just listen to Ross Brawn and actually give Pirelli a chance to actually TEST their tyres.

Pirelli have been treated so badly since they re-entered F1. If I were them, I'd get the hell out.

By both the teams, drivers and the fans. Pirelli should just wave a massive middle finger to them all, make tyres that last one lap and leave. I mean, they've bent over backwards for F1 and made tyres that no tyre manufacturer would want to make and have damaged their reputation.

It's like a contractor being asked to build a building which lasts 5 years and then crumbles down to the ground so the country gets some international press. And he does it, and hangs his company banner on it when he's done.

They had the choice of saying no to the FiA. What you're asking us to do is dangerous and would result in a periphery of problems that we can't fully understand. We'd rather make a good F1 tire. So I have little sympathy for Pirelli when it comes to that. It's like the German officer claiming they were just following orders.

The legal grounds is the punishment was to miss that test, admittedly what that test is has changed a lot, the seven days pass on Wednesday I think (for appeal)?

At anyrate, they won;t be testing the 2014 tyres I think? So Mercedes will still get to be the only team to run those in a current car.

Didn't Perelli insist their contract allowed them to do the tests like Mercedes on safety grounds? Basically implying that was the motivation for the test from Perelli, who instigated the test.

They don't have to appeal the tribunal's decision. They were okay with that ruling. What they have to do is protest the change to the YDT and their exclusion from testing a tire being introduced for safety reasons (when one of their drivers was nearly killed) I'm dramatically enhancing for courtroom effect here.

Pirelli have been wanting to make a good F1 tyre all season but how were they, or enyone else, to know the tyres were going to be potentially dangerous? Had there still been perovision for proper testing in the reg's I reckon most (if not all) of this could have been avoided. Pirelli are, to an extent, a victim of the obsession with cutting costs which led to the testing ban. What they need to do now is get together withthe teams and demand proper in-season test sessions.

I'm certain Mercedes has nothing to complain about in regards to the change of drivers to be used at the YDT. They were found guilty and a punishment was meted out. The fact that external circumstances change the punishment will not ever be a reason to change the punishment. If it rains every day of the YDT will Mercedes be suggesting the other teams get another 3 day test because they got three dry days for their testing. Ferrari and Lotus will be hoping for cold days, Red Bull will want hot, some teams will get better luck in what the weather serves up. But they will have to play with the cars they are dealt.

And now its clear why Pirelli are the only tyre maker left in F1, the others didnt want anything to do with the lunacy of making your own product worse than it is

Mercedes broke the rules got caught and have to pay the punishment. If you can not do the time don't do the crime. The rules now say that race drivers can do this test. No point crying over spilt milk. Merc will have how many races with 1Mm on extra help? When the other teams get the same they will all advance at the same time.

I honestly swear that some people one this forum would swear black is white if there chosen team/driver told them to.
