I really thought that Ferrari would take at least one of the championships away from Red Bull this year given their fantastic start, but with the bad luck results in some races, and the being caught on their back foot in other races, they're relying on Alonso's magic to come through the field time and time again, and that's just not enough to do it when dealing with the strength of Red Bull.
Massa has been floundering and is struggling a lot in qualifying which mean he's got to drive even harder to get through the filed and he's not Alonso. Given the way things are going if Mercedes manages to come to grips with their tire situation, It's possible to see Mercedes finishing second in the WCC.
Ferrari have 2 big issues to overcome...their development 'pace' and Massa. Both are not at Ferrari standard at the moment and they're never going to win anything with just 1 star driver. The Massa part is easy to overcome...give him the boot after this weekend and start looking for a better driver who still knows how to drive. Their development pace....well, that's a bit more complicated. Maybe they could 'rent' a few guys from Mercedes.
Mercede's have been worse than Ferrari at development in recent years, it's Rebull where the pace is at.
Ferrari should just go for 2014, maybe they can make engines better, no way are they going to get the pace advantage over Redbull to overcome the points gap, but the team has too much pride over professionalism and won't admit it.
Massa is probably due to go, bring on the Hulk. Surely he could have guessed at the relative pace of Sauber and Force India when he left, hopefully he went so Ferrari can stare at him.
