So, i haven't been in the chatroom for a while. I was in yesterday for a bit and it was silent.

Anyone planning to be in during the race? (Need to make plans, so I know which TV to watch it on) :hehe:

... Hard to get sharp images of a car doing 130 Mph with a 5.6 aperture at 300 mm. :banghead:

Pan quickly :)

Sunglasses on b1tches! Beautiful blue skies and puffy white clouds. No way it's raining today.

There's the problem with the cams (not dslr) I've got, the displays/digi viewfinder go blank and photos aren't taken the moment you press the shutter. I had a samsung with optical viewfinder which was good but that got stolen at the airport :(

20-25C is the forecast, I think it's pretty good. Plus the Mercs will be on brand new dry tyres instead of ones which were used in qual.

It's fine mate, I'm actually not bothering with it this time. I've got some beers in, so I'm going to spread out and focus on the coverage away from the computer I think. :)

I have the view that, for Merc, the cooler the better. The other teams won't be able to bring their tires up to temp and will risk/suffer from tearing (remember the tire problems from first few days of testing in Spain?). Merc's problems come from overheating their tires. Having said that, like Monaco, the tires here deal mostly with longitudinal forces mostly and, here, the surface isn't abrasive.

Actually, a dry race here could well end out to be a a great race - I'm not opposed to that

For the Tifosi, Fernando's car has the new exhaust, sidepods, sidepod flow-conditioner, brake ducts, nose bulge, pylons, and front wing. Felipe has the older sidepods and exhaust along but does have all the new front bits.

If it stays dry and warm, Felipe may well try for one less stop - in fact both F138's might.

I'd be surprised if we didn't see the safety car play a role in this race.

I think a Red Bull and a Ferrari will be on the podium. The Mercedes is a risky bet if we were betting who would be on the podium.
