Turkey has been a secular state for almost 100years when Attaturk had it wrritten into the constitution of the country, and it is unde that regime that people have grown up and been educated in Turkey.
I sense....and this is where I may be wrong, a slight shift with this curren leader toward a more Islamic style country? I remember hearing some time ago that this leaders wife had decided to cover her head in public. Just last week I read that alcohol would not be sold after 10 pm. I'm not sure if that means in shops only or also in bars, clubs and restaurants. If its a case of the latter this will devastate the tourist industry along the west and south coast, and all the businesses associate with it. I love Turkey and all the Turkish people Ive met on my many visits. I'd do hope things work out ok for Turkey.
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
