seeing all the lamb poofters walk out the grand stands just before the end of the race was a classic, they are sore losers and sore arrogant winners Ferrari fans shame on you!!! :twisted:

Number one it is the McLaren supporters that are the p00fters not the Ferrari fans, get it right, number 2 you might as well of laughted at all us so called arrogant Ferrari warriors because you will not get too many chances as we have been the dominant team for the last 10 years and will continue to do so for the next 10 years......long after the imminente death of McLaren occurs. McCheaters, Liverp00fter supporters all the same. Think they are great because they won one little dismal battle. Yeah well try and wil the war now, nuh why bother, your efforts will be futile and in vain because come the last race of the season and we all know Ferrari will be champion again. Don't we. :D Search your feelings bud and you will know that it is true.

Yawn, just watched it for the second time and I'm knackered. Brilliant driving by Lewis, a great performance by Mclaren, and some daft mistakes by the Ferrari drivers.

Sounds like there's some sore losers on here. Get a life AKR!

You just watched the race for a second time, I cannot even watch it twice if Ferrari wins, infact I cannot even watch it after I know the result. I have watched F1 and even football many times after I have known the result and just fallen asleep on the couch. That is why if the race or match is on late at night or early in the morning I just get up. May be you should get a life......

And if Ferrari doesn't win I switch the television off all together after the race. Don't like watching the podium part when I can't get to listen to my favorite anthem. *LOL* Hey camon it isn't really a bad thing it is just me. :)

I have at least 100 races recorded going back to the 80's and I've watched some of them dozens of times. Many of us love to watch F1 races and aren't hung up on only 1 team.
As far as Ferrari being the dominant team over the last 10 years they have won 6 WDC's and 7 WCC's since 1998. How'd they do in the last 30 years you might ask? Ferrari won 6 WDC's in 30 years. Ferrari did not win a single WDC in the 80's or the 90's! Ferrari has won 10 WCC's in the last 30 years, Williams has 9 and McLaren 7. Impressive yes but not dominating especially considering the constant support over this time of a major manufacturer, FIAT.

Forget the 80s and 90s, Ferrari will never make those mistakes again. All that matters is now, the 21st centuary and Ferrari is and will continue to be the team of this centuary. :D.

Well they certainly didn't look like the team of the century yesterday... :roll:

And you can't win every race now can you or dominate every race? Everyone has a bad day so what gives with that comment? Ferrari winning 6 WD Titles and 6 WC Titles from 2000 until now plus being highly dominant but just missing out in 2006 for both titles (having only one bad season in 2005) and most likely being world champions again in 2008 makes Ferrari the undisputed team of the 21st centuary. And apart from that Ferrari is the all time great team of F1 holding basically all records. Hang on I best remind you with facts. Here you go.

The Ferrari team has achieved unparalleled success in Formula One. Ferrari cars and Ferrari drivers have also won the Mille Miglia 8 times, the Targa Florio 7 times, and the 24 hours of Le Mans 9 times. In F1, the Italian team has the unique distinction of owning nearly all significant records (as of the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix), including:

* Most constructor championships: 15
* Most driver championships: 15
* Most wins (all-time): 201
* Most wins (season): 15 (tied with McLaren)
* Most podiums (all-time): 603
* Most podiums (season): 29
* Most pole positions (all-time): 195
* Most points (all-time): 4,754.27
* Most points (season): 262
* Highest winning percentage: ~26% (for teams with at least 10 wins)

In 2004, Ferrari also surpassed Ford as the most successful F1 engine manufacturer, with 182 wins (to Ford's 176 wins). Due to the availability of the Cosworth V8 to private teams, a total of 6,639 Ford-powered cars were entered between 1967 and 2004, compared to 1,979 starts for Ferrari and Petronas-badged engines during the same period.

But in motor racing you're only as good as your last race.

Nuh the people at Lygon Street are mostly highly intelligent. Given most are Italian or are non Italians that are into Italian stuff and especially Ferrari then the so called dimwits you have mistaken for are the wrong people. Maybe you'll find them back home in Adelaide when you get there again, but don't go looking in the Italian community over there as there isn't any dimwits there either. :D.

Are you joking? yeah well done lewis but p-lease Kimi made a mistake? he would of took your two little 'rookies' downnn!! there's no doubt about it!!!! so don't start writing us off now, with the aero package, and the overall power of the engine, your going to be number 4 & 5 and maybe even lower than that?
Alonso is coming back into town, he faught of your driver hands down
Barichello & Button have a new amazing car, and barichello would have come 3rd, not threw stratergy but threw the overall power of the car
Kubica would have took pole without a doubt if he didn't make a mistake on that corner
Rosberg, a Fantastic driver, and a Champion in the future!! Williams have got it this season so watch out!
& do i need to say any more about Ferrari?
1st Last he was up to 8th!!! and then was 3rd in no time?? This weekend is gonig to proove all you McLaren Fans that you shouldn't jump in the deep end before you can swim?
Your all going downnn! and there's no doubt about it!!!
& Lewis Got Driver of the day :? nooo!! he did what any driver could do with a McLaren! Rosberg should have driver of the day!!

I Think Many of the Ferrari boys would Agree :) & All the People that believe Lewis got off......' Lucky ' :)

No you're right - Kimi didn't make a single mistake.

He made two mistakes!

He got a great start and fought well until he got stuck behind Barrichello. Then he seriously overcooked it trying to take Kovalainen before sloppily putting a wheel on the grass behind Timo Glock. The first can be excused as pushing hard, the second was just plain lack of focus.

I'm not totally sold on the "Honda were outstanding" thing. My evidence?
First session: 11th & 15th
Second session: 11th & 14th
third session: 7th & 16th
Qualy one: 7th & 12th
Qualy two: 11th & 13th
Fastest lap: 8th out of 17 (Jenson didn't set a time of course)
The picture I get is of a thoroughly midfield team, albeit that they've improved from last year. Back in 2006, which I would remind you was viewed as a reasonably disappointing year for them pace-wise, they took pole position and 3rd driver Davidson topped the first two Friday sessions. Look at it that way and they're pretty much no further forward than they were in 2005 and 2006, and way back from their 2004 successes. For a company like Honda that's not good enough, but at least they're moving in the right direction now.

Their qualifying pace was good enough to be considered outstanding when you look at last year's performance. And for us Honda fans, we'd like to be a lot better than last year. Judging by the final test in Jerez and this weekend, we're set to at least score points consistently. And to be a 'thoroughly midfield team' for this year would make me happy. :)

Okay, firstly, you're being silly. Kimi cocked up, plain and simple. It doesn't make him any worse, he just had a couple of moments under pressure. Every driver has done that and will continue to do that. Even the greats of the past did it. The only reason that Kimi managed to get to third was because of all the cars dropping out. At the first corner, he made up several places because I think four or five cars were taken out in that accident and Massa had a spin. Then the safety car helped him get up to third. If this race hadn't had so many retirements, Kimi probably would've finished exactly where he did anyway, because there are some drivers that would have given him a hard time when he came to overtake them. His car was certainly better, but people like DC, Mark Webber, Jenson, Vettel and Trulli would've put up one hell of a fight, and we saw Rubens hold him off for an age.

I'm not disputing the pace of the Ferrari cars, and no doubt we will see it in Malaysia. But Melbourne was a nightmare for them not only because of engine trouble, but because their drivers were trying too hard and making mistakes that they shouldn't have been.

Also, when you say that Alonso fought off Heikki, the Finn overtook him and looked set to stay ahead until he hit the pit lane speed limiter. Alonso got lucky. He drove well enough in the race, but that last lap was luck more than anything and I don't think that Kovalainen will make that mistake again.

Finally, I don't agree with the people who say Lewis was driver of the day at all. He didn't do anything spectacular, in my opinion. His race was simple because both Kubica and Kovalainen were struggling to match his pace in the early stages, though Kovalainen was carrying a much heavier fuel load. I don't know what happened to Kubica. But for me, I have two drivers of the day, really, and one special mention. The first is Bourdais who, amongst all that carnage, kept his cool and drove a good race up to fourth, where he was holding off Alonso and Kovy. He would easily have kept that position if his engine hadn't let go. The second is Rubens Barrichello. Despite being disqualified, something good has happened to him. He finished in the points. He's shown that he's capable. When Rubens is happy, Rubens is motivated. And when he's motivated, he can win races. Not in an RA108 unless the circumstances are extra special (I.E. a few front-runners drop out and conditions might not be the best) but he can still do it. In the RA108, he'll get points. He may even get a podium, but that won't be easy and probably won't come until people start making big mistakes ahead of him.

And the special mention goes to Timo Glock who, after being off the pace in testing, showed that he could match Trulli's speed this weekend and drove a nice race up until he crashed out.
#36024
I really don't see how anyone other than Lewis can be driver of the day. He controlled the race from start to finish, didn't put a foot wrong, and it's not his fault if the competition are nowhere. Other drivers drove well, true, but for a 23 year old in only his 18th race the fact that Lewis looked as composed and imperious as Schumacher in his pomp would be regarded as utterly remarkable if we weren't already conditioned to take Hamilton's prodigious talent for granted.
