"Ok Lewis, rear left is reaching the limit of grip," he is told on the radio. "I cannot drive any slower," comes the response.
This tyre circus has got to stop...
The tyres are the same for everyone.
It's not whether or not this is the same for everyone. it's that the king class of motor racing, with the best drivers in the world actually cant race flat out due to tyre management...
Tyre management has always been part of F1. It's just got a lot more crucial this season.
This is coming from the guy that said F1 is not what it used to be?
Well it's not is it? I don't like this excessive tyre management anymore than the next person. But it is true that tyre management has always been an important part of a race strategy but now it seems to be the all consuming factor and that's not right.
But normally people don't both attack and defend their point of view. You tend to confound people when you do that.
I'm not both attacking and defending my point of view.
It's really quite simple what I'm saying. Tyre management has always been an important part of a race strategy with other factors coming into it. Now, with tyres that only last a handful of laps, tyre management is
the race startegy. Having 4 stop strategies in good/stable weather conditions is a joke.
