Because, in my opinion, the T-bar (and its colour) can be seen from the majority of camera angles. The car numbers certainly cant.

Yeah..same here, numbers are out of the question. Oh what they should have is like "LEWIS" and "NICO" on the sidepods, like what McLaren had with Mika and David during that badass West sponsorship period.

F1 numbers are a joke. Try reading them in a wet race.

And when a shot of a Mercedes comes on that's over the head of the driver and you see the top of a yellow helmet, it's far easier for me to see yellow or black gloves.

In any case, the problem here is exacerbated by the fact that both Mercedes drivers have very similar helmets. Which is the reason for my original comment.

Depends on the camera angle, if they use the T-CAM, it is obvious, but on some longer shots its less obvious, although I noticed the Mercede's ones better than others as they have the ring around it. Plus one of their numbers is single digit and the other is double digit

I didnt even know they still had numbers on the car. And the helmet situation is a real joke, it use to be just Lewis now apart from him and Nico, theres Perez confusing the issue, anytime I saw him I was like 'why is Lewis going so slow, then, duh'
