Well, a while ago I got the demo of this game, though I didn't have any real hopes for it. Not that it wouldn't be a good game, it certainly looked great, but I had no hopes of it working for me, because I'm a Linux user and less games can be made to work on it than on Windows. But, luckily, I got it running perfectly in Wine, so I bought the full version of it and I must say that it's awesome. You get five open-wheel single seaters, including a Formula BMW and BMW F1.06, as well as around 15 road cars. There are six or seven tracks with various configurations, both street and rally.
You can also modify the cars' skins to make them look similar to others. For example, I have a skin that makes the F1.06 look like an F2007, MP4-22, MP4-12, Jordan 199, BAR 001, Williams FW30, Benetton 195 and more. And it's really good in terms of graphics and sounds, handling etc. You even get a pit lane speed limiter in the F1.06!
The only problem is damage. Things don't break off, they just crumple more and more, but I think that will be improved eventually. And you can only slightly damage your engine, not kill it, and you don't get gearbox, transmission failures etc.
But I would definitely advise anyone who wants a good, cheap (£12 or £24 - £24 gets you everything, and you can't get the F1.06 in the £12 version) game for the computer to try this. I'm looking to get a wheel now, because playing with a keyboard is really difficult, since you can't apply varied levels of pressure on the throttle and brakes. I'll have a clip of me doing a few laps up soon, for those who are interested. In a Jordan, of course!
