Mclaren is gonna be lame next year. The won't be winning anything at all.

McLaren will be the best and they will win everything and they will beat all records and they will shizzle all over everyone else and they will be amazing like they always are and I will always love them F!CK YEAH

Ever tried decaf? It really works for cases like yours

Just dishing out my fair share of nonsensical fanboyism.

Biscuits.

Hard boiled eggs.

Oh I'm so f!cking drunk. And intelligent.

Curtains.

Lol, McLaren is going to s#ck next year . . . (not likely). But anyway, happy holidays to all, and as always, PEACE!

It would be foolish to completely write off McLaren at this moment in time.

Well...considering they have achieved squat since Whitmarsh took over, I don't know about that. And considering the slower driver has remained in the team, McLaren might want to do something highly innovative to have a chance of a WDC. Considering the only innovative thing they've done in the past 10 years is the F-duct, I won't bet too much of my capital on them. A couple of wins...a couple of poles thanks to Perez, and that should be a 'successful' season by 2013 McLaren standards.

Whitmarsh is now going into year 4 of being in charge of McLaren. Compare that to the same presiod of Ron Dennis. Whitmarsh is so far doing better.

have faith Lew. :hehe:

Is he really? Ron took over Mclaren in 81, in 84 he won 12 out of 16 races and both championships.
Pror to that he cadged three chassis off a friend, bought some rusty engines off Benie Ecclestone on HP and converted a horsebox to transport them to races. This was F2. He managed to get Graham Hill to drive one of his cars. In his FIRST RACE his drivers came 2nd and 5th and in his SECOND RACE he won. He was 23 years old and team manager. I'd say Whitmarsh has a way to go to come close to that.

Dennis took over in 1980. 80 - 9th, 81 - 6th, 82 - 2nd, 83 - 5th and 84 - 1st.
Whitmarsh took over in 2009. 09 - 3rd, 10 - 2nd, 11 - 2nd, 12 - 3rd.

So saying that Whitmarsh is not doing an acceptable job is in fact rubbish. McLaren have remained in the top 3 under his tenure despite having a somewhat unreliable car at times. Even their harshest critic has to admit that that is pretty good going.

As for Ron Dennis' life story, I could give a flying fig. It is irrelevant.

Yeah...using the empire which RD built and being under his guide for over a decade. There have been no major rule changes since Whitmarsh took over.

2014 will be an acid test of his leadership. Till then he is able to ride the wave which RD built and look somewhat respectable.
