Ferrari was the lead team on Bridgestones. What do you expect them to do? Make the tyres with Minardi in mind?

So I am gathering it's ok to complain about Pirellis lack of durability but not ok to complain about their operating window?

No, they shouldn't be working with any team specifically on development of tyres, I think that Pirelli have got it right in that regard; all teams get equal opportunities to test their tyres!

They should and the shouldn't. They need to know how the tyres will work is a situation that is as close as possible to that of a race but they shouldn't be giving a team an advantage. However, if they are going to enlist the help of a team it be aswell be whichever team is leading and will get good results with their product.

Pirelli have their own test team, using older F1 cars; so they can get a good idea of how the tyre will work; while getting feedback from all teams, that's the only fair way of working!

It is the only fair way of working. Bridgestone didn't have such a luxury back in the early 00's though.

I'm sure a company with the resources of Bridgestone could have picked up an older F1 car and tested themselves if they wished. Testing with a single team gives that team a HUGE advantage as they can design their car around the tyre while everyone else has to wait and react afterwards. Anyway, we are getting way from the thread topic!

I am sure there is some HRT's hanging around that they could buy to use at tests.

They need an F1 car, not a milk float. :hehe:

So, while Jenson is claiming that they, McLaren, won't suffer the same fate as 2012 with the tyre issue, Pirelli have come out to say they will be designing the tyres with even greater degradation and cliff. First of all, who the hell is "they?" Lewis and his side of the garage didn't have issues with the 2012 tyres. Lewis even lapped Jenson (Canada) on a fair fight when there were no weather or technical problems to get in the way. Jenson needs to lay off the crystal ball forecasting. Listening to Pirelli, ol Jenson is really screwed (again) in 2013. Advantage Perez! Oh, it's hotting up already!

I'm just saying...

Did Pirelli claim that? More degradation? I hope not....but don't mess with the operating window, if it takes some brains and skill in knowing how to get the tyre up to OP temperature and keeping it there, then by all means don't mess with it Pirelli.

It's just as much a skill to make the tyres last longer than their designated operating window... God you make yourself sound so blatantly like a Lewis fanboy you're a case study for idiocy!

Lol...so apart from Perez and Lewis in Barcelona, who else has managed to obviously make tyres 'last longer than their designated operating window'? You make a case which shoots down your own case, who's the bigger idiot here?

Didn't you guys go on a fishing trip together recently? I thought that would have been such a positive experience.
